Before connecting your receipt printer and cash drawer, complete the initial setup for the Register terminal.
The images in this article show an Epson receipt printer. You may instead have a Star receipt printer, which is also fully supported and uses the same connections.
Connect the receipt printer to the Register terminal
- Unbox the receipt printer and find the included USB and power cables.
You may have separate cables or a Y-cable that combines USB and power. With the Y-cable, you don't need a power outlet for the receipt printer as it draws power from the Register terminal.
- Place the receipt printer on a flat surface and remove the back and bottom covers (Epson) or back cover (Star) to access the input ports.
- Connect the receipt printer to the Register terminal, routing the cable through the cable management slot and clip.
- If you have separate USB and power cables, connect the USB cable as shown in the following image and connect the power cable to an outlet.
