Accept payment by phone with Dutchie Ecommerce

The Pay by Phone option in Dutchie Ecommerce is for dispensaries that accept credit or debit payment information by phone. This option is most commonly used in Canada but is available in all markets.
Enable Pay by Phone
- In Dutchie Ecommerce Admin, select Settings > Ordering.
- Select any order type.
- Scroll to the Payment Types section.
- Check the box for Pay by Phone.
- Click Publish.
- Repeat these steps for any additional order types for which you would like to offer payment by phone.
When checking out, customers will see the following message informing them that a member of your staff will contact them by phone to take payment.
To ensure you receive accurate customer phone numbers, contact Dutchie Support and ask them to enable the phone number confirmation option at checkout. This will prompt customers to confirm or correct their phone number before placing their order.
Process orders with Pay by Phone
- Confirm the order as usual.
- When preparing the order, call the customer to collect their credit or debit card information and process the payment within your POS system or external terminal. You’ll find the customer’s phone number listed on the printed receipt and within the order details on Dutchie Ecommerce.
- Mark the order as “Ready for Pickup” or “Ready for Delivery” as usual.
