Enable order status emails in Dutchie Ecommerce

You can configure Dutchie Ecommerce to send automated email notifications to your customers regarding their order status. 

To enable these notifications:

  1. From Dutchie Ecommerce admin go to Settings > Advanced Options.
  2. Scroll down to the Order Status Emails sections and check or uncheck the boxes for:
    • Submitted - Email sent when the order is received.
    • Confirmed - Email sent when the order is confirmed, either manually by a user or automatically based on your configuration. This will include an order number. 
    • Ready for Pickup - Email sent when the order is ready to be picked up. Customers will also receive a text (SMS) message when their order is ready for pickup, regardless of this setting.
    • Out for Delivery - Email sent when the driver is out for delivery. Customers will also receive a text (SMS) message when their order is out for delivery, regardless of this setting.
  3. Click Publish to save your changes.

Order status emails include basic information about your dispensary including your logo and phone number, and an order summary. These emails cannot be customized.

We recommend that you also enable Require email address for guest checkout under Settings > Options so you can reach all of your customers by email. The system will not notify you if a customer did not receive a message due to a missing or invalid email address so adding these details to the customer profile is important. 

You can also send customer notifications when cancelling an order and send pickup reminder emails if a customer hasn't picked up their order after a given time frame.
