This article applies to Dutchie Ecommerce.
What is a GeoJSON file?
GeoJSON is a format for encoding geographic data structures.
A user can upload a .geojson
file which outlines a polygon on the map, by listing out specific coordinates.
A GeoJSON file is used to select a specific area for delivery, instead of drawing an approximate area. This limits user error.
How can I upload a GeoJSON file?
Users can upload a GeoJSON file by dragging and dropping the file onto the map provided. Multi polygon files are supported.
Note: Users can test their file before upload using https://geojson.io
Frequently asked questions
Can I upload an image of a city map into a GeoJSON generator and then save that file to be used?
No. You cannot upload an image. If it has data, like a KML or CSV file, just drag & drop it onto the GeoJSON website page or click Open and File — data should appear on the map. Then you can save it as a GeoJSON file.
Will you provide a list of GeoJSON files for specific cities or municipalities?
There are no current plans to provide a list of files for city limits / municipalities. You can use the polygon tool to draw specific delivery zones under Settings > Store Info > Delivery Area > Drawn Zones.
