Conditions for offers (Total Price/Quantity/Weight/Minimum Spend/Discount to Cart) in Dutchie Ecommerce
This article applies to Dutchie Ecommerce.
What are Offers?
Offers (formerly BOGO) are a great way to draw in new customers, move through product, or just do something special for anyone who stops by your dispensary. The way this works with Dutchie Ecommerce is that you can set up specific conditions your customers must meet before they can receive their reward. It's that simple!
What's a Condition?
Conditions are requirements set by you--the dispensary--that must be met by the customer before they can be eligible for a reward (discount, free item, etc.). In this article we'll go over three specific conditions related to Offers: Total Price, Total Quantity, and Total Weight. Let's get started!
Total Price Condition
This specific condition is actually found under the Rewards section instead of the Conditions section, so be sure to keep that in mind when setting up an offer. You will see why when we go over an example below.
As a dispensary admin, once you complete the Conditions section and move on to Rewards you will see the option to select "Items for a Price" as the reward. This is the Total Price Condition! This means that a customer can receive all of the items you specified in the Conditions section as long as they cover the Total Price set by you in the "ALL ITEMS FOR" field.
You create an offer with Wyld Strawberry Gummies for 3 for $30.
You then add Wyld Strawberry Gummies, Qty 3 (Normal Retail: $12) in the Conditions section. Then you set “Items for a Price” for $30 in the Rewards section. This means that if the customer adds 3 packs of Wyld Strawberry Gummies to their cart, they will save $6 by getting this Offers Reward. The discount is spread evenly across the products.
Cheapest Item Wins
Keep in mind that anytime a decision needs to be made regarding which item in a customer's cart the discount applies to, the Dutchie Ecommerce algorithm will always automatically select the cheapest item.
Rewards will only display to the customer during their shopping experience if they have added the items satisfying the condition(s) in the Offers to their cart. Once a customer has all the items in their cart that meet the Offers' condition(s), including the reward item, they will be notified of how much money they are saving.
Total Quantity Condition
This condition allows you, the dispensary admin, to set a 'Total Quantity' that a customer must purchase from amongst the items included in the Conditions section. It's important to keep in mind that you will not be required to specify a quantity per item - but rather a total quantity.
- Buy any two products, get a third 50% off
- Buy any two of these four edibles, get a third for $0.01
Wyld Lemon Lime Gummy or Wyld Raspberry Gummy or Wyld Strawberry Gummy
Total Quantity = 3
Example carts to qualify for offer:
- 1 Wyld Lemon Lime Gummy, 2 Wyld Strawberry Gummy
- 1 Wyld Lemon Lime Gummy, 1 Wyld Raspberry Gummy, 1 Wyld Strawberry Gummy
Important Note on Total Quantity Condition
- If Total Quantity is used alone it will apply to all weighted products on the menu
- Example: Buy ANY 2 products, get Reward
Total Weight Condition
This condition allows you, the dispensary admin, to specify a total (cumulative) weight that the customer must purchase in order to earn the corresponding reward. This condition will work with any weight-based product and can also be used alone or in combination with one or more Product Conditions.
Buy at least 1/2 oz of flower from brands A, B, or C, earn a Reward
Garlic Cookies or Purple Kush or Sour Diesel
Total Weight = 28g
Example cart to qualify for offer:
- 14g of Garlic Cookies, 7g of Purple Kush, 7g of Sour Diesel (different items can be any weight to total 28g)
Important Notes on Total Weight Condition
If Total Weight is used alone it will apply to all weighted products on the menu
- Think of this as an easy way to “Select All”
If Total Weight is with a Product Condition:
- It will apply only to those products listed in the Product Condition
- It will always be included with an AND operator
It will cause the Quantity and Weight inputs for each Product Condition to be hidden and any inputs to be cleared, which will have the following effects:
- Weight input for any Product Condition gets automatically set to ‘Any Weight’
- Quantity input for any Product Condition gets ignored as it is overridden by the Total Quantity Condition
Minimum Spend Condition
This condition allows you, the dispensary admin, to specify a minimum spend discount to a customer's cart in relation what the customer must spend in order to earn the corresponding reward. This condition will work with any product on the online menu, regardless of being included in a promotion or not.
Spend $250 and get $75 off your cart.
Spend $100 or more on “Flower Products” and get a free cartridge.
Important note for Example 3 Minimum Spend Condition: Under the Condition tab when building out your Offer, you must first select the Condition: Total Spend and set the total amount the customer must spend. Then add any condition, such as "Items from a brand" or "Items from a Category" and design your conditions to the desired endpoint.
When moving onto rewards, you must select one of the following choices:
- Individual Items
- Items from a brand
- Items from a category
Once your conditions and rewards have been configured, your reward will apply once the customer spends the allotted amount of minimum spend condition + the selected items that apply towards the amount needed to be spent.
Discount to Cart Condition
This condition allows you, the dispensary admin, to specify a total discount to the cart in relation what the customer must purchase specifically in order to earn the corresponding reward. This condition will work with any weight-based product and can also be used alone or in combination with one or more Product Conditions.
Purchase any 5 edibles - get all items for 50% off
Buy 3 eighths of flower and 2 edibles, get $5 dollars off each item
Buy more than 1/2oz of any product from any brand and category, get 30% off all items.
Note for Example 3: This condition allows the customer to mix and match Concentrates, Edibles, Flower, and so on to receive the intended discount to cart reward.
