How does dutchie update my menu?
An overview of dutchie's Content Team and menu cleanup
Summary
After your POS is integrated with dutchie, the information you enter into your POS will automatically populate your dutchie menu. Dutchie has a dedicated Content Team that periodically reviews your menu and connects your items to pre-build products in our library. This ensures your menu items have complete, beautiful and consistent photos, names, descriptions, potencies, and types. The more information you provide, the more complete your dutchie menu will be!
Formatting
Our pre-built products separate the "Product Name" and "Brand" to maintain consistency and provide your customers an optimal shopping experience. We highly recommend separating the product and brand names in your POS, so when new items are added they are easily searchable and sortable by brand name.
Adding Information to your POS
Follow these guidelines when entering items into your POS so they seamlessly sync with your dutchie menu.
The DOs
- Use full names for products and brands. Dutchie allows customers to sort your menu by brand name. If there is no brand associated with an item, it will not appear when your customer sorts by a specific brand name.
- Separate variations of the same product (i.e. edibles with different flavors)
- Add types (Indica, Sativa, Hybrid, CBD) to each product. If no type is specified for items like edibles and topicals, default to Hybrid. Dutchie allows customers to sort your menu by type. If there is no type associated with an item, it will not appear when a customer sorts by type.
- Include total potency levels for each product. Entering both THC and CBD values in your POS makes your customers more likely to make a purchase.
- Assign the correct category. A common mistake is adding vaporizer cartridges in the “Concentrates” category. Use the vaporizer category to ensure cartridges are displayed in the “Vaporizer” category on your dutchie menu.
The DON'Ts
- Don't use abbreviations in the product name or brand name field
- Don't combine multiple products into one item using “assorted flavors/strains”
- Do not enter per serving THC or CBD content for edibles, topicals, etc.
- Do not use “concentrate” category for vaporizer cartridges, or the “edibles” category for tinctures
