Enable medical transactions
This article applies to Greenbits.
Enabling medical transactions in Greenbits allows you to categorize a customer as a Patient, which opens up additional fields such as medical ID and caregiver that you can record in Greenbits for easy reference.
You can also customize which taxes are applicable to medical sales, if any, and the Register automatically applies the taxes as appropriate. Alternatively, set up Patient Pricing to keep all sales at an even dollar amount and avoid dealing with change.
- Go to Store Options and check the box Enable Medical Transactions.
- Go to the Taxes page and specify which Customer Groups/Patient Types each of your taxes applies to, and for which Product Types.
- With medical transactions enabled, can now create Patient profiles in Back Office and at the Register.
- When you start a new transaction, the Register prompts you to choose between Medical and Recreational. When you select Medical, you're required to create or select a Patient profile before you can ring up items.
