Your Greenbits account includes default roles that you can assign to users. If those roles don't work for your business, you can create new roles using these permission groups and individual permissions.

Default roles

  • Budtender role:
    • Make Sales (start and update shifts, ring sales, and view products)
    • Alter Sales (apply discounts, create returns and voids)
  • Shift lead role:
  • Supervisor default role:
    • All Shift Lead permissions
    • Manage Inventory (receive manifests, create return manifests, adjust inventory, manage products and manage product types)
    • Manage Discounts
  • Admin default role:

Permission groups

Similar permissions are grouped together on the Roles page, with individual permissions listed beneath. If you select the permission group, you are also selecting all of the individual permissions underneath.

To select permissions on a more detailed level:

  1. Uncheck the top-level permission.
  2. Select Advanced.
  3. Select the individual permissions that you want this role to have.

Make sales permission group

  • Create sales
  • Skip sales warning: Allows a user to bypass below cost, transaction limit, bypass patient lookup warnings. Users without this permission must ask someone with this permission to PIN in order to override the warning and complete the sale. See more about assigning this permission.
  • Skip sales below zero warning: Allows a user to bypass warnings that a sale will cause inventory to go into the negative. Users without this permission will require a manager/admin PIN in order to override the warning and complete the sale. See more about assigning this permission.
  • View products
    • Applies to the products list in both the register and in Back Office.
    • You must also select Access Back Office in order for this permission to work.
  • Start shift
  • Update shift
  • Manually add item: Allows a user to ring up an item by searching the product name or barcode (SKU). Users without this permission will be required to scan all items in order to add them to a sale
  • Manually verify age: Applies only to recreational stores using age verification at the register. Allows a user to type a customer's date of birth into the register. Users without this permission will be required to scan the customer's ID in order to verify age and complete a sale.
  • Create employee sales: Allows a user to ring up sales with an employee as the customer, for the purpose of distributing samples or applying employee discounts.
  • Create delivery sales: Allows a user to designate a sale as a delivery in the Register. Delivery sales is only available in some markets. Learn more about delivery sales.

Alter sales permission group

  • Apply discounts
    • Each Discount Plan also has their own set of permissions. Learn more.
  • Create returns
  • Create voids
  • Create employee returns: Allows a user to process returns on items purchased by an employee, including samples.
  • Create employee voids: Allows a user to process voids on items purchased by an employee, including samples.

Access Back Office permission group

This permission allows a user to sign in to the Greenbits Back Office.

  • This is not required for accessing the register or for making sales.
  • Many of the other permissions require you to also select Access Back Office in order to work.

Manage inventory permission group

You must also select Access Back Office in order for this permission to work.

Manage pricing tiers permission group

You must also select Access Back Office in order for this permission to work.

Manage devices permission group

Greenbits recommends that you have at least one user with these permissions be in your store at all times. These permissions are required in order to activate the Greenbits app and connect it with your Back Office and inventory. Update devices allows a user to re-name a register and set whether that register can process medical sales only, recreational sales only, or both. Destroy devices allows a user to permanently delete devices. If someone without this permission attempts to destroy a device, a user with the permission can use their PIN to complete the deletion.

Manage store settings permission group

This section controls access to the Store Options page in Back Office as well as other storewide settings such as Location settings, Receipt settings, and Traceability settings, such as entering your license number.

Employee is a type of Customer (not to be confused with Users). Only employees can receive cannabis samples and employees-only Discount Plans.
