Use your Register in Emergency Mode
This article applies to Greenbits.
Emergency Mode keeps your store running, even when you don't have internet.
You cannot use Greenbits to make medical sales while in Emergency Mode. You will need to record medical sales outside of Greenbits, then enter them into the Register later, when your internet comes back online. You also cannot start a shift (drawer) while in Emergency Mode, but if you already started a drawer, you can continue to make sales.
Note: If your store uses the Sign Out After Every Sale and/or Sign Out After Inactivity option and you have Users that sign in to the Register using a username and password instead of a PIN, they will not be able to make sales when in Emergency Mode because an internet connection is needed to verify a password.
What do I need to do to turn on Emergency Mode?
Nothing! The Register automatically activates Emergency Mode when:
- Your iPad loses connection to the internet.
- Your network speed is extremely slow.
- Your wifi signal is disrupted or weak.
How can I tell if I'm in Emergency Mode?
You'll see a cloud icon with an X on the Register when you are in Emergency Mode.
Will I lose data while in Emergency Mode?
You will not lose any data, as long you avoid these actions:
- Don't delete the Register app.
- Don't perform a factory reset of your iPad.
After your internet connect comes back, Greenbits will automatically submit all sales to the Back Office within a few minutes.
