Transaction limits safeguard your store by automatically checking whether the amount of cannabis in each transaction is within your state's limits. These limits are based on total Product weight, THC content/potency, or both, depending on your local regulations and the type of Product.

You can help make sure transaction limits work properly in your store by following these guidelines:

Enter the Weight field on all unit-based Products

When you create a unit-based Product, always enter the total weight of each unit in the Weight field, on the Product Details tab. If you don't see a Weight field, change the Product Type.

Some states don't use the weigh of each unit to track certain products:

  • California: For all items except Flower, enter the weight in grams of added cannabis concentrate contained in each unit. Ask the vendor for this information if it's not included on the label.
  • Michigan: For liquids, enter the total volume of each unit in fluid ounces.
  • Oregon: For pre-rolls, enter the weight in grams of the usable cannabis only. Enter the weight of additional materials, such as the rolling paper or filter, on the Edit Inventory page.

Make sure weights match

Many products come in different weights, such as pre-packaged flower in both 1g and 3.5g. When receiving inventory, be careful to assign each Package or Lot to the correct Product of the same weight.

To make this easier, consider adding weights to your Product Names.

Enter Test Results on all barcodes (SKUs)

Greenbits uses Test Results along with weight to check transaction limits. Always enter test results when you receive inventory.

Test Results are specific to each barcode (SKU). Do not confuse the barcode (SKU) Test Results with the Test Results on the Product Details tab, which are used for menu integrations.
