Dutchie Hub FAQs
What is Dutchie Hub?
Dutchie Hub is a multi-channel payments platform that empowers dispensaries to scale their payments offerings, protect themselves with payments redundancy, drive greater revenue, and provide a best-in-class customer experience with targeted deals, discounts, and robust loyalty programs.
What payment methods are offered with Dutchie Hub?
Dutchie Hub allows dispensaries to accept three different payment methods to pay for cannabis, both in-store and online. PIN Debit, Dutchie Pay, and Credit. PIN Debit and Dutchie Pay are existing payment methods we offer to dispensaries today. Credit will be a new payment offering.
What is Credit?
Just like it sounds, we will now offer dispensaries a payment solution where they will be able to accept credit cards at their dispensary, in a phased approach.
Why is Credit OK now?
At Dutchie we take pride in providing and recommending trusted payment partners to our customers. We are now confident that there are more reliable and more transparent credit options available in the cannabis space. We are continuing to iterate on the options available to Payments Hub to ensure you always have effective payments options available, even if the regulatory environment changes.
Are other dispensaries offering credit to their customers now?
Yes, we are seeing several dispensaries in key markets across the country that are now accepting credit cards.
Is Dutchie Hub Compliant?
Dutchie is committed to providing multiple payment options for our customers including Dutchie Pay, Pin Debit and Credit. We believe Dutchie Hub is a more reliable, safe, and secure option in cannabis and is the best solution for card acceptance now and in the future.
Will this work with all credit cards?
Yes, if a dispensary elects to turn on credit acceptance, all credit cards where the cardholder has sufficient funds or the available credit needed to cover the cost of a transaction they're using a card to complete.
When will Dutchie Hub be available?
Dutchie will be launching a Beta period for select dispensaries in Q4 2023. Ask how to join the waitlist today!
Is this integrated with other Dutchie products?
Yes, Dutchie Hub will be fully integrated with Dutchie Ecomm and DPOS.
Do I need a payment terminal to offer Dutchie Hub? What are the costs associated with them?
Yes, to accept Dutchie Hub in-store you will need one of our payment terminals. The PAX A920 and the PAX Aries 8 are both compatible with the Dutchie Hub.
What is the difference between the PAX A920 and the PAX Aries 8?
The Aries 8 is a multi-functional, counter-service tablet built for in-store payments at dispensaries. The tablet comes with a large screen that is great for driving consumer engagement with upsell opportunities and dispensary branding.
The A920 is a mobile payment device that was built for budtenders on the go by enabling them to accept payments in-store, curbside and on delivery orders.
Will there be any additional hardware or device needs for Dutchie Hub in the future beyond the two PAX devices?
No, we do not see the need for additional hardware beyond picking one of the PAX devices that is best suited for your business. These devices were selected with the future in mind, meaning this is the last cannabis payments hardware you should ever have to buy.
Can we use Ingenico terminals for Dutchie Hub?
No, unfortunately the PAX terminals are the only terminals that can offer the full suite of Dutchie Hub payment options.
If I have PIN Debit through Dutchie, do I have to go through underwriting again for Dutchie Hub?
You will need to be approved for this new payment solution, however we will be able to reuse the information you already submitted. You also may be asked to provide a few additional documents.
Are Gift cards still able to be offered with Dutchie Hub?
Yes, you can still offer gift cards today regardless of Dutchie Hub. Our current gift card offering is non-integrated so it has nothing to do with Dutchie Hub at the moment. In other words, Dutchie Hub terminals cannot process a gift card for payment. That has to all be done manually through the POS and 3rd party gift card provider.
