Metrc Connect (V2) overview and FAQ - Dutchie POS
Learn about how Metrc Connect (also known as Metrc V2) and Dutchie POS work together to provide greater stability and enhanced configurations.
Metrc Connect is a suite of endpoints Metrc has developed as an evolution to their integration offering. The platform offers greater stability and configuration potential for POS platforms and opens features that were previously only available in the Metrc application. This will be the platform for all new Metrc features and new market expansions going forward.
How to enable
Users in select markets who have the Edit Metrc Integration permission will see an option to Use Metrc V2 in the Metrc integration settings. Change this to Yes and click Update.
With Metrc V2 enabled, all activity in the Register and Backoffice will pass through the new Metrc Connect endpoints. No additional work will be required, and no workflows will need to be changed.
FAQ
Will I see any changes?
No, all of these changes are “under the hood,” and they will not affect any of your existing workflows or settings in Dutchie POS.
Why is Dutchie implementing this new integration?
Metrc Connect has 80+ new features to integrate with, but it’s critical that the Dutchie engineering team is able to observe how the integration behaves in a production environment. This gives our team the opportunity to fully understand the framework so that we can not only take advantage of the features Metrc has developed but also build new features of our own and offer an enhanced customer experience in the future.
What do I do if I run into a problem?
Contact Dutchie Support as normal. We can help you troubleshoot any issues or answer any questions. If necessary, we can switch you back to the existing Metrc integration with no effect on traceability or reporting.
Do I have to switch to the new integration?
All Metrc-integrated locations must eventually migrate to Metrc Connect to take advantage of new Metrc features and updates, and new markets implementing Metrc traceability will use Metrc Connect exclusively.
