Compliance: Metrc State Traceability

Which Mode should I use?

Oregon does not require real-time reporting, so we recommend that Oregon operators use Batch mode.

Reminder: Set Up Users in Metrc for Oregon Compliance

Oregon regulators pay close attention to how actions in Metrc are tied to individual users. To stay compliant, make sure each team member has their own account and their activity is being tracked accurately in both Dutchie and Metrc.

Steps to Stay Compliant:

  • Go to Settings > Users in Dutchie Backoffice and set up accounts for all staff members.
  • Double-check that each team member is linked correctly between Dutchie and Metrc.
  • Navigate to Dutchie Backoffice > Settings > Integrations > Metrc > User Keys.

Does Oregon require an external category for cannabis items in the catalog?

Yes, Oregon requires an external category for all cannabis items in the Catalog. Refer to the tax categories in OLCC's Product Categorization Guide or ask your inspector if you have questions about how to categorize a certain product.

Once you've set up the Metrc integration, go to Products > Configure > Fields and set External Category to Required if Cannabis.

Then, on each cannabis product in your Catalog, make sure the External category field is correctly filled in.

Why am I getting an error when converting packages?

Make sure Sync to METRC item is set to Yes in the Catalog for any products you need to convert.

Will this process affect my current Greenbits or Metrc workflow?

No. Adding your Catalog, entering Metrc credentials, or updating other data in Dutchie POS will not impact Greenbits. Additionally, Metrc will not be affected as long as you don't sell any traceable inventory in Dutchie POS before your switchover. Run test sales using non-cannabis inventory that will not be reported to Metrc.

Dutchie Backoffice: Catalog & Inventory

How do I build compliant labels in Dutchie POS?

We have preloaded a customizable Oregon-compliant label template into your Backoffice. You can go to Settings > Labels to adjust this label to your liking by dragging and dropping the fields.

For more information about label creation, check out this video tutorial: Growing Together: Label Management 101.

How can I make my out-the-door price to print on my label?

As of November 2024, we are experiencing a system issue in which the "price" displayed on the label only reflects the out-the-door medical price. To display the out-the-door recreational price on a label, use another Catalog field, such as "flavor," to input the recreational price. Then, include that field on the label.

Will my discounts, users, and pricing tiers get copied over during the data import?

No, you will need to recreate these in Dutchie POS.

Can I bring over my loyalty program, which is points per transaction? For example, 10 points per 1 transaction?

No, in Dutchie POS, customers can only accrue loyalty based on dollars spent, not the number of transactions.

Can I set my registers to automatically log out after each transaction?

Dutchie POS does not have an option to automatically log users out after each transaction. However, there is a similar feature that requires users to enter their PIN before completing each transaction. Contact Dutchie Support and ask to have the “Require PIN on checkout” feature enabled for your location(s).

Can I use the same Greenbits PIN code?

No. Like Greenbits, Dutchie POS user PINs are randomly generated. Users cannot choose their own PIN, nor can we import existing PINs from Greenbits into Dutchie POS.

How do we start a drawer/till for the day?

Closing out the previous drawer automatically starts the next drawer with the balance you specified in the New Balance field. The next user can sign in and start processing sales without entering their starting cash amount, though it is a good practice to verify that the physical starting cash in the drawer matches the amount the previous user entered when they closed out.
