0:00 Hello and welcome! Today we're talking about converting products in both Greenbits and in Dutchie backoffice. First, in Greenbits, you can convert weight-based or volume-based items to units or combine units into packs.
0:14 Here's a brief guide on how to do it. First, ensure you have both a unit-based product and a weight-based or volume-based product available in Greenbits.
0:23 If you don't have a unit-based product yet, you can simply create a new one. Then, go to Inventory and Select Products and select the bulk product that you'd like to convert into a unit product.
0:35 Find the barcode or SKU you want to convert and select Actions and select Convert. Select a search for products and then select the Unit-based product.
0:47 Remember, if you're an Oregon and want to create pre-rolls, there's a specific process to follow. Check out the article linked below for specific instructions.
0:56 Now, let's take a look at how to perform the same action in Dutchie. In Dutchie, inventory can be converted both individually and through a bulk action.
1:06 To convert individually, simply go to products, then select inventory. Select the inventory item you'd like to convert by clicking on the icon with three dots.
1:16 Click the actions drop down and select convert. Complete the fields in the Convert package window as applicable. Fields with an asterisk are required.
1:27 Then, click Convert to save changes. In addition to converting items individually, items can also be converted in bulk. To perform this action, simply go to products, then select inventory, select the packages you'd like to convert from the inventory table, click the bulk actions drop down, and select
1:46 Convert. Complete the fields in the Convert package window as applicable, and click Convert to save your changes. Remember, the Convert feature allows you to convert packages into different skews and package IDs.
1:59 For example, you can process flower packages into concentrates, pre-rolls, or pre-packed containers, depending on your state's regulations. A pro to converting inventory and bulk is enhanced reporting endpoints.
2:10 With this method, you can opt to include packaging items to the cost, like containers, rolling papers, or even employee labor, if it exists as a catalog item to be added to the conversion.
2:22 Remember, when converting one item into a new item, the Dutchie system is pulling source information like the cost and the vendor.
2:29 This information is triggered to save from the originating catalog listing, and we'll save both you and your workforce time and clicks throughout your day-to-day workflows.
2:38 Additionally, if when converting you'd like to include an inventory status marker, but didn't see anything in the drop-down selection, new entries can be added in back office.
2:48 Simply navigate to products > configure > and select inventory statuses and enter anything you'd like. Then, next time you're converting a product, these options will display on the dropdown menu.
2:59 Now, depending on your state, there may be instances where you want the converted product to share a package ID tag and not trigger a supplemental action on the state traceability side of things.
3:09 To enable this features and options, simply navigate to settings, then select location. Here, look for the bold admin header. Then select the checkbox next to bypass state system and save changes once done.
3:22 The bypass state system option is typically used when you need to make changes in Dutchie that you don't want to report in your state traceability system.
3:29 For example, if you're converting inventory in Dutchie and you want the changes to only reflect in Dutchie, and not on state traceability, you might use the bypass state system option.
3:40 However, it's important to note that bypassing your state system is not always recommended or compliant and can have serious implications if used inappropriately.
3:49 Always consult with Dutchie support or a compliance officer before using this option. While Greenbits offer simplicity, the Dutchie platform is designed to meet the needs of growing businesses, with advanced features, detailed configuration options, and robust compliance tools, Dutfchie empower users to manage
4:06 their inventory with greater precision and efficiency. Transitioning to Dutchie ensures that your operations are scalable, compliant, and adaptable to the complexities of modern cannabis retail.
4:18 By taking the time to set up products correctly in the Dutchie catalog, users gain a system that works harder for them, saving time and reducing errors in the long run.
