0:00 Hello and welcome! Today we're talking about the difference between the catalog products and inventory products in both Greenbits and Dutchie.

0:09 In both systems, we can use the metaphor of a library. In Dutchie, the catalog is like the library card catalog system.

0:17 In Greenbits, the catalog system is called products. Think of this as a comprehensive list of all books or products that the library has ever had, currently has, or will have in the near future.

0:30 If they have a delivery coming up in a few days, they would have created the catalog or product entries before it arrived, right?

0:37 On the other hand, inventory is more like the actual books on the library shelves available to check out at this very moment.

0:44 These are the items that are currently available for visitors to borrow. To access products in green bits, go to the inventory tab in back Backoffice.

0:53 Then click products. To access inventory items, go to the inventory tab and click on your inventory items underneath your product designation.

1:05 Remember, when you receive a package, lot, barcode or skw of a product, you are adding inventory items to your green bits inventory, so you can solve them in your store.

1:16 Now, to access the catalog in Dutchie, navigate to Dutchie Backoffice, go to products and select catalog. In the catalog, it's important to take time to build out all of the items and fill out all required fields.

1:30 In Dutchie, you can customize the required information you'd like your team to capture on all entries, simply navigate to products, then select configure and fields.

1:39 Here you can mark line items for the catalog and inventory items as hidden, showing, required, or only required if they have cannabis.

1:48 A best practice recommendation is to spend some time in this area and simplify the intended workflow for your staff before beginning to transact with customers.

1:56 If you want to save time, adjustments can also be made in bulk by selecting all relevant products, or using the Sort & Filter options to quickly select groups of items.

2:06 Then select the bulk options drop down, and bulk edit the product details. Select the fields you'd like to change, adjust the details, and add supplemental fields as needed, or save your changes to apply them to the selected items.

2:21 Now, let's talk about accessing inventory. Navigate to products, then select inventory. Remember, the catalog is more like a dictionary of all of the items you've had in the past, have currently, or will have in the near future.

2:35 While inventory is a snapshot of items that you have on hand to sell to customers right now. This means actions like moving products from one room to another, adjusting quantities, converting items, and all other inventory actions will need to take place on the inventory tab.

2:51 If you have additional questions and are still in the implementation and onboarding process, please reach out to your dedicated implementation strategies.

2:58 If you're live and transacting with customers, please reach out to support via phone, live chat, or email. Happy learning, and we'll see you next time.
