Things to consider

  • The Campaign builder feature requires specific permissions to access. Check with your Dutchie Administrator to ensure you can build campaigns.
  • In order to send campaign emails to specific customers, you’ll need to build out segments in Customers > Segments in Dutchie Backoffice, see Create customer segments in Dutchie Backoffice

Campaign permissions

There are three campaign permissions that give you the ability to control who can create campaigns, send campaign emails, and view campaigns.

Permission  Description  Example
Create campaigns  Gives users permissions to draft and edit campaigns in Dutchie POS. Only specific people at your store can create campaign drafts.
Send campaigns Gives dispensaries the ability to control who can send campaigns.  Choose who you want to be able to send emails. They can also review the draft email before sending.
View campaigns Gives users the ability to view campaign results and see email drafts before sending.  An executive that wants to see the results of a campaign, or a manager that wants to view a draft email before it’s sent.

Tips for sending emails and avoiding spam folders

There are a few different tools Dutchie leverages to make sure emails are sent to consumers and avoid the spam folder. Email Marketing works through a concept called reputation. In order to increase reputation for your email, we suggest sending your first few campaigns to reliable email addresses. The fewer bounced emails, emails marked as spam, more clicks, the better your reputation becomes and the more likely emails are to reach the target audience.

Establish good email habits with email warmups

Email warmup is a practice that will establish reliability and consistency with sending emails. Dutchie will automatically send a max number of emails per day, exponentially increasing the number of emails sent. This gradual process helps to establish a reputation with Internet Service Providers (ISPs) as a legitimate email sender. This process starts with 100 emails per day, then gradually increases to 200 and so-on.

Track unsubscribes

Unsubscribes, bounced emails, and low delivery rates increase the likelihood of emails to go to spam folders. We recommend uploading a list of your unsubscribed emails before sending your first campaign, so that Dutchie won't email those people again.

Use permissions to separate campaigns and avoid mistakes

Leverage the different permissions for campaigns to control who can view, edit, and send campaigns in the Backoffice. This keeps your campaigns safeguarded and accessible to trusted people in your organization, see User permissions reference guide

View analytics for sent campaigns

Campaigns created and sent from Dutchie Backoffice provide stats on how the campaign is performing. You can use campaign analytics to see data such as the number of times opened, amount of times links were clicked, how many products were added to carts, and how many orders were placed. All of this data is derived directly from the sent email. To access these analytics:

  1. Go to Marketing > Campaigns
  2. Select the campaign you want to see.
Note: Sent campaigns are indicated as ‘Sent’.
  3. On the Overview tab, access campaign insights.
