Batch transactions with Dutchie POS and Metrc
In addition to collecting Metrc receipt numbers at the time of sale, Dutchie POS can also post completed transactions to Metrc in batches. To see the status of Batch Mode transactions and address any errors or failures, navigate to Traceability > Logs.
Overview
Dutchie POS with Batch Mode enabled can post receipts to Metrc as quickly as several seconds after the transaction is complete and as late as several minutes later, depending on how many receipts are queued and the status of the state or Metrc systems receiving the receipts. When successfully posted Dutchie POS fills in the transaction's Metrc receipt number automatically up to an hour later.
The Batch Mode view displays:
- Dutchie Receipt ID: The internal receipt ID.
- Customer and Customer MMJID

Status: The receipt submission's status, which can be
- Success: Dutchie POS posted the transaction to Metrc and received the receipt number.
- Queued: Dutchie POS is waiting to post the transaction to Metrc.
- Processing: Dutchie POS has posted the transaction and is waiting for a response. This include automatic re-submissions upon errors if Dutchie POS is configured to do so.
- Error: Dutchie POS failed to submit the receipt, and ran out of re-submission attempts.
- Cashier
- Metrc Receipt ID: The receipt ID received from Metrc after Dutchie POS successfully posted the transaction.
- Last Transmission Attempt: The date and time when Dutchie POS last submitted the transaction.
- Last Transmission Error: If the transaction failed to post, this column contains the error message received from the state systems, Metrc, or Dutchie POS.
Configuring Batch Mode
Batch Mode can attempt to submit transactions in real-time, or to attempt to submit a batch of transactions once and report errors upon failure, or to attempt the submission three times before reporting an error. Dutchie POS recommends setting three attempts.
