This article shows how to copy products, retire products you no longer carry, view transaction records for a product, edit product details, combine duplicate products, and view inventory associated with a product.
Things to consider
- Copied products have a unique SKU; all other data will be retained, including images.
- Transaction history in the catalog shows the product history in all of your locations and specifically tracks sales for that Package ID.
- When you view transactions for a product you can only see sales. Returns and voids will not show in the catalog transaction history.

In addition to managing catalog products in bulk, each product can be viewed and managed individually. To manage a catalog product individually:
Go to Products > Catalog
- Copy a product
- Retire a product
- View transactions
- Edit a product
- Combine duplicate products
- View inventory
Copy a product in catalog
- Click on the product you want to copy.
- Select Copy from the Actions dropdown menu.
- Generate a new SKU number for the copied product.
- Click Save.
Retire a single product in catalog
Retire products that have been discontinued or that you no longer carry. This will hide the product from your default catalog view, but does not delete it entirely. Wait until you've sold out of or destroyed all remaining inventory before retiring a product. Retiring a product in Dutchie has no effect on traceability and is not reported to Metrc or BioTrack.
- Click on the product you want to retire.
- Select Retire product from the Actions dropdown menu.
- Turn on the Retired products toggle in the More filters window to see all retired products.
- To unretire products, click on the product to see the product details and click the Unretire button.
View transaction history
- Click on the product you want to view.
- Click the Transactions button.
- The transactions window displays a list of transactions including the product.
Edit product details
Each product in the catalog module has additional details that provide more information about the product.
See Add products to Catalog for more information on the editable tabs in the product details view and how each tab is used to provide more information about the product.
Combine duplicate products
- Decide which version of the product you want to keep.
- Copy the SKU of the other duplicate product.
- Go to Products > Inventory and paste the SKU into the search bar to identify packages associated with the duplicate product.
- Select a package, then on the package detail page, select Actions > Change product.
- Reassign the package to the product you want to keep.
- Repeat for any other packages associated with the duplicate product.
- Once all packages have been reassigned and there is no remaining inventory associated with the duplicate product, retire it.
View inventory
When viewing product details, you can click the View inventory link to see all active inventory packages assigned to the product.
This link is hidden if you do not have the View Inventory user permission, and is disabled if there are no active packages associated with the product.
