Redeem Alpine IQ rewards in Dutchie POS
This article applies to Dutchie POS.
Customers who have signed up with Alpine IQ accrue loyalty points that they can redeem for discounts. This article shows how to look up a customer's point balance and redeem their points.
Things to know
- Alpine IQ is a third-party loyalty program that integrates with Dutchie POS and is different from Dutchie's built-in loyalty features.
- Before customers can redeem Alpine IQ points, you need to set up Alpine IQ discounts in the Backoffice.
Authenticate loyalty member and view their points balance
You can use two-factor authentication to make sure your customer is using the correct loyalty account.
In the Dutchie POS Back of House, go to the Integration settings. For Bypass 2FA, you can turn it on or off.
If it is ON, two-factor authentication does not occur.
If it is OFF, two-factor authentication does occur.
By default, Bypass 2FA is off.
If you are using two-factor authentication when checking out a customer:
- Click the 3 dots in the cart.
- Select Redeem AIQ.
- Enter the customer’s phone number and select Get Code. The customer will receive a text message with a 4-digit code.
- Enter the code.
Apply rewards and offers at checkout
If the customer placed their order through Dutchie Ecommerce and selected their own reward on the checkout screen, it will appear on the right sidebar. Click Redeem to apply it to the order.
Otherwise, you can browse and apply an available reward manually:
- Click the ... button and select Redeem AIQ.
- Enter the customer’s phone number and click Get Code.The customer will receive a code via text. Enter the code and click Open Wallet. (These steps do not apply if you set Bypass 2FA to Yes).
- Select an available reward to apply to the transaction.
Points are only redeemed when the order is finalized at checkout.
If you're also integrated with Dutchie Ecommerce, log in to Dutchie Ecommerce Admin and go to Settings > Integrations > Dutchie POS > Settings tab. Check the box for Redeem Reward at POS.
This makes it so customers' loyalty points aren't deducted from their wallet until the order is completed in Dutchie POS instead of when the customer submits their order in Dutchie Ecommerce. This allows dispensary staff to apply the reward at the POS without deducting points twice.
