Things to know
Per labeling requirements, QR codes must appear on labels and link to Certificate of Analysis which will be URLs managed at the inventory level in the POS.
- For the QR code on the label to work, we need all existing sellable and non-sellable inventory to have a URL from the manufacturer that shows their Certificate of Analysis. The labels will not be in compliance until those URLs are updated in inventory.
To Add the Certificate of Analysis to each package.
- Go to Inventory, and then View Inventory. Click on any cannabis product.
- Once the product is open, click on the Lab Results button.
- Scroll down to Lab Result URL (Scan a QR Code). Copy and paste the URL code given to you by the vendor.
- Upload the QR Code, and click Save.
Note: This will update the lab results for all inventory with the same batch number.
Updating the labels
- Go to Settings > Labels. Choose the label you normally use for cannabis products. In the Add field section, type in "QR" in Field dropdown to bring up the options to choose from. Pick Lab Results QR Code.
- Enter values for all the required fields, then click Add field.
- You can now resize and move the QR code in the image window to fit where you would like it to be on your labels.
- Once you have the QR code where you would like it to appear on your labels click on Save.
Update label language
- To change the language on your labels, scroll down in the Fields section until you see where the current regulator text is.
- Once you have located the field with the text, click on the Text Label to open it.
- Copy and paste the language: “This product has been tested and meets the requirements of the state of Montana. Keep out of reach of children and pets. This product may be addictive. This product may have intoxicating effects. Do not drive while under the influence of marijuana.”
- Click Update field.
