Google Analytics 4 (GA4) | Dutchie E-Commerce - About Google Tag Manager

Dutchie supports the use of Google Tag Manager on embedded, storefront, and subdomain menus. Learn more in this article.

Before you begin

  • You need to have permission to view and edit integrations in Dutchie E-Commerce Admin.
  • You need to have an existing Google Tag Manager account with a deployed workspace not set to preview-only mode.

Locate your GTM ID in Google Tag Manager

  1. Log into your Google Tag Manager account
  2. Navigate to the workspace and locate your GTM ID near the top of the page.
    • The GTM ID will have the following format: GTM-XXXXXXX.

  3. Copy the GTM ID.

Connect Dutchie E-Commerce to Google Tag Manager

  1. Go to Dutchie E-Commerce admin > Settings > Integrations.
  2. Locate and click through the Google Tag Manager tile.
  3. Under the Settings tab, enter your GTM ID, and click Save.

Once the connection is complete, a Connected icon will display in the corner of the tile. Note: It may take up to 5 minutes for these changes to take effect.

Supported tags

Dutchie permits the use of two classes of Tags: google and customPixels as well as the use of Google's Floodlight tags. For further understanding of the restrictions, please reference the following restrictions information: https://developers.google.com/tag-manager/web/restrict

GA4 tags managed through GTM

GA4 tags managed through GTM require some additional configuration to work correctly in our iframe.

  1. Follow the directions in the Google Tag Manager documentation for setting up and configuring Google Tags.
  2. For GA4, the Google Analytics 4 Configuration tag must have the parameter cookie_flags set to samesite=none;secure so that the GA4 cookies can be added to the browser from our iframe.
