Springbig | Dutchie E-Commerce - How to set up integration

Springbig allows customers to apply rewards they’ve earned at your dispensary to their Dutchie E-Commerce orders. Use this article to set up the integration.

Set up

To enable the Springbig integration on your Dutchie E-Commerce account: 

  1. Contact Springbig to obtain an "Auth Token."
  2. Then, in Dutchie E-Commerce, go to Settings > Integrations > Springbig.
  3. Click Connect.
  4. Enter the Auth Token provided to you by Springbig
  5. Optionally, enable Combine Discounts to allow customers to redeem Springbig rewards and other sales, offers, and discounts on the same order.
  6. Click Connect.
  7. Upon successful connection, enter a: 
    • Display Name - This changes the message customers see at checkout from “Connect Your Rewards” to “Connect to [custom text]."
    • Display Description

  8. Click Save.
  9. If you're also integrated with Dutchie POS, go to Settings > Integrations > Dutchie POS > Settings tab.
  10. Check the box for Redeem Reward at POS. This makes it so customers' loyalty points aren't deducted from their wallet until the order is completed in Dutchie POS instead of when the customer submits their order in Dutchie E-Commerce. This allows dispensary staff to apply the reward at the POS without deducting points twice.

  11. Click Save.

Receive orders

When a customer applies a Springbig reward to their order, the reward will be displayed on the individual order and on the terminal receipt:

Customer Experience

A customer visits your shop menu and decides to use their loyalty program (Springbig). Each time they visit they will “Check-in” to Springbig using their mobile device and earn points, which are stored in their Springbig wallet.

The customer then visits this dispensary’s Dutchie E-Commerce menu and types their phone number in as usual at checkout. If their number is associated with a Springbig customer account, a tooltip will appear indicating that their Reward Points have been connected, and the eligible rewards will be displayed.

Upon scrolling down the page, the customer will see a “Rewards” section where a module will display the rewards that the customer has earned. Dutchie  E-Commerce ONLY allows % and $ discounts to be displayed and redeemed.

The customer can choose to apply any eligible discount to the order by clicking the “Apply” button. Upon doing so, any other eligible rewards will become inactive as only one reward can be applied to the order at a time, and the points associated with that reward will be deducted from the customer’s Springbig wallet.

After a reward has been applied to an order, the Springbig reward and the amount of the discount received will be reflected in the order total section at Checkout.

Additional Notes

Depending on preferences, you may want to create an SOP to verify with the customer, in person, the reward that was applied. 

You should be able to do this by checking the customer’s Springbig app to show the reward as redeemed. This can also be done from your Springbig account by clicking on “Logs” in their blue sidebar menu and then “Rewards” and checking for the customer’s name and associated reward.
