Connecticut | Set up Biotrack integration with Dutchie POS
This article applies to Dutchie POS.
In this article, you’ll find all the necessary steps to integrate your retail business with Connecticut’s traceability system BiotrackTHC.
Things to know
- Ensure your Biotrack credentials are set up.
- Refer to this reference guide for general information about Connecticut seed-to-sale tracking in BioTrack
- Notes on the Push Inventory feature in BioTrack:
- After using Push Inventory, you will have to re-label the products because an inventory push in BioTrack reassigns a new 16-digit package ID.
- We recommend waiting to push inventory before or after store hours.
Integration settings
- In the Dutchie POS Backoffice, navigate to Settings > Integrations.
- Select BioTrack.

Important note about product potencies
Our team is working to resolve an issue that prevents Dutchie POS from pulling test results accurately from BioTrack. Until further notice:
- Manually calculate and enter the potencies of all products to ensure accurate tax collection.
- Even though you’re entering potencies manually, the BioTrack Integration setting Use BioTrack Lab Data should still be set to Yes and Default BioTrack Labs in Receive should be set to No.
Create External ID numbers for inventory rooms
Once your BioTrack integration setup is complete, link your inventory rooms to track the location and movement of cannabis inventory.
- Check that your BioTrack integration is Enabled and you are not using training mode.
- Navigate to Settings > Rooms
- Select each room and re-save all settings.
- Select the room once more to ensure an External ID has populated.
- Repeat steps 3-4 for each room
Update your Catalog with external categories in bulk
Bulk update each category with the corresponding external category from BioTrack. The categories for your state will show on the drop-down during an edit.

Integrating Cars and Drivers
These steps only apply if your dispensary offers delivery or engages in wholesale transactions. If you haven’t already done so, turn on Enable Delivery or Enable Cars and Drivers for Wholesale in the Backoffice under Settings > Location. Learn more about Dutchie POS’s delivery settings and configurations.
- Log in to BioTrack at: https://trace.ct.biotr.ac/.
- Navigate to Employees (which corresponds to Drivers in Dutchie POS) and enter all required information, then click Save.
- Navigate to Vehicles (which corresponds to Cars in Dutchie POS) and enter all required information, then click Save.
- In the Dutchie POS Backoffice, navigate to Delivery > Configure. Create a “test” Car and Driver in Dutchie while the integration is enabled. Click Add and refresh your browser.
- You should now see all BioTrack Employees and Vehicles have been automatically imported to Dutchie POS. You can now delete the test Car and Driver.
