These label formats are based on Dutchie’s interpretation of the MCA’s emergency regulations. Dispensaries are encouraged to review the provided templates carefully, and make any necessary changes based on your interpretation of the Maryland Adult Use rules. Dispensaries should consult their local regulators with questions about label requirements. Operators are under no obligation to use the provided label formats.
Edit or create label templates
Dutchie has created two pre-built label templates for Maryland adult-use sales under Settings > Labels:
- MD Pre-packed Flower Label - Dutchie Launch
- MD Patient Label - Dutchie Launch
These templates provide field mapping that meets Dutchie's interpretation of the Flower and Patient labeling requirements released by the MCA.
There is some required business-specific information that you will need to fill in yourself:
- MD Pre-packed Flower Label - Dutchie Launch
- Retail business name - This should be your licensed company name or your DBA
- Retail business phone number - This is the phone number for the establishment where the cannabis is packaged.
- MD Patient Label - Dutchie Launch
- Retail business name - This should be your licensed company name or your DBA
All label sizes can be reconfigured if needed.
Please note: MCA labeling requirements also require products to be labeled with the retailer Name, Phone, number, and Address.
Our current label for flower products satisfies this requirement. Dutchie has not provided a pre-populated template for other product types to satisfy this requirement, as size and information will vary by business and operational model.

Update default label settings
If you use Dutchie's label template or create your own new label template, remember to update the default label templates for your registers:
- In the Backoffice, go to Settings > Devices.
- Select a register.
- From the Default label dropdown, select your new label template.
- Click Save.
- Repeat for each register at your location.
