New York | Bulk update and populate regulatory category for products - Dutchie POS

OCM-required reports may ask for an additional field called Product Type/Form that must be populated for each product. To ensure the correct information is included in the report, be sure to expose and consistently fill in the Regulatory category for each product in your Dutchie POS Catalog. Products with missing or incorrect regulatory category entries will not be pulled into the Monthly Sales report.

Expose the regulatory category field in your Catalog

The Regulatory category field is not shown by default. To expose this field in your Catalog:

  1. Go to Products > Configure.
  2. Click the Fields tab.

Assign regulatory categories to Dutchie POS product categories

Consult state regulators if you have questions about which regulatory category to assign to a certain product or product category.

To assign a regulatory category to an entire category of products:

  1. Go to Products > Configure > Categories.
  2. Select a product category.
  3. Assign the appropriate Regulatory Category.

  4. Click Update.

New and existing products assigned to this product category will now automatically be assigned to the selected regulatory category, except for individual products that were already assigned to a different regulatory category. The regulatory category at the individual product level will always take precedence and override the regulatory category at the product category level

Assign regulatory categories to individual products or use bulk actions

Consult state regulators if you have questions about which regulatory category to assign to a certain product or product category.

You can alternatively assign regulatory categories to individual products, which will override the regulatory category set at the product category level. This is generally only necessary if you have Dutchie POS product categories that don't correspond exactly to your state's regulatory categories.

To assign a regulatory category to a single product, go to Products > Catalog, select the product, and update the Regulatory category dropdown.

Or, you can assign a regulatory category to several products at once using bulk actions. For example, you can use search and/or filters to isolate products of the same regulatory category, then select products manually using their individual checkboxes or click the checkbox in the header row to select all products that match your criteria:

Once you have at least two products selected, you can select Bulk actions > Bulk edit product details.
