Manufacturers, cultivators, and processors can use the Lab Sample inventory management action to adjust a package to remove a portion of content to send for testing. Users can also use lab sample inventory management to void labs samples to help correct mistakes.
Things to know
- Lab samples can’t be created in bulk. You need a unique package ID for each sample.
- Voided lab samples can't be undone. If a lab sample is voided by mistake, it will need to be recreated in the Dutchie.

Biotrack states: Users integrated with Biotrack can void lab samples in Dutchie to correct mistakes. When a lab sample is voided:
- A void request is sent to Biotrack.
- The lab sample is zeroed-out in Dutchie POS.
- Quantity is restored from the lab sample inventory to the original package.
- Metrc states: Creating lab test packages in Dutchie does not create a lab test package in Metrc. Use the Bypass state system option when creating lab test packages in Dutchie and then manually create a corresponding package in Metrc.
Create a lab sample
- Go to Products > Inventory.
- Select the packages you want to create a lab sample for from the inventory list.
- Click the three dots … at the end of the row, and select Lab Sample.
- Fill out the fields in the Create lab sample window, and click Create.
View lab sample in product journal
- Go to Products > Inventory > Journal.
- Enter the Package ID for the sample in the search field.
- Select the product from the list to see details.
Void a lab sample
Voiding a lab sample helps you correct mistakes and remain compliant with state regulations. Voided lab sample functionality is available for both Metrc and Biotrack states.
- Go to Products > Inventory.
- Click the three dots ... next to the package you want to void a lab sample for.
- Select Void lab sample from the dropdown.
- In the prompt window, click the Continue button to confirm the void.
Note: Voiding a lab sample cannot be undone. - Go to the product Journal to lookup notes about the product and confirm the Void.
