Create and apply additives to plants

Create additive products in your Catalog to record the application of additives and track additive inventory and cost in Dutchie POS.

Things to know

  • This is an optional feature that must be enabled for your location by Dutchie Support.
  • Additive application is reported to BioTrack in Florida only.
  • Additive application is not reported to Metrc.
  • The user interface and fields shown below may vary by state

Create additives in the Catalog

  1. In the Backoffice, go to Products > Catalog.
  2. Select Add product.
  3. On the Details tab, fill in these required fields along with any additional information.
    • Set Cannabis product to No.
    • Assign a Vendor. This will be required in order to apply the additive to plants later.
    • Set Available on point of sale to No.
    • Set Is additive to Yes.
  4. When Is additive is set to Yes, an Additives tab appears with additional required fields:

    • EPA number
    • Application method
    • Additive type
    • Active ingredient
    • Percentage (i.e., concentration of the active ingredient)
    • Total Amount Applied
  5. If the additive product contains multiple active ingredients or is a compound of multiple additives, select Add another active ingredient and/or Add another additive until you’ve recorded all active ingredients and additives.
  6. Click Save.

Receive additive inventory

Before you can record the application of additives to plants, you need to receive inventory for each additive product.

  1. In the Backoffice, go to Products > Inventory.
  2. Select Receive inventory.
  3. Fill in the Receiving details section and be sure to assign the same Vendor as when you added the additive to your product catalog.
  4. In the Receive package window, choose an additive from the Catalog product dropdown.
  5. Fill in the required fields along with any additional information such as Cost.
  6. Repeat for any additional additive products you’re receiving at the same time from the same vendor.
  7. Click Receive.

Apply additives in Cultivation

  1. In the Backoffice, go to Cultivation > Plants.
  2. On the Plant groups tab, click the three dots next to a plant group and select View plants.
  3. Click the three dots next to a plant and select Apply additives, or use the checkboxes to select multiple plants and then click Bulk actions > Apply additives. Click the checkbox in the header row to select all plants in the plant group.
  4. Select the additive you’re applying to the plant(s) along with the Total or Per plant quantity, and the other value will automatically calculate based on the number of plants selected.
  5. The Unit Cost is automatically populated based on the cost you entered during receiving.

  6. Optionally, choose Add another additive to add a different additive to the selected plants.
  7. When you’re finished adding additives, click Apply.
