Use the daily sales breakdown to see sales data by day.
The Daily Sales Breakdown report shows daily sales totals with breakdowns by tender type, master category, and customer type. includes all sales data subtracted from Gross Sales to reach Net Sales, such as Discounts, Loyalty as Discount, and Returns. The report also shows taxes and loyalty used as payment.
This report shows a row for “All” totals across each of the master categories. This row is included because certain metrics such as Loyalty as Payment, Fees / Donations, and Rounding are applied at the transaction level and not at an item / product level. These metrics will not be associated with a master category.
Additionally, you will only the amounts collected for each payment method in the “All” row.

Getting started
Access
To access this report:
- Go to the Reports module in the Backoffice.
- Click Sales and search Daily Sales Breakdown in the search bar.
- Click on the report name to bring up the report page.
Default dates and search criteria
This report can be run for all locations or just the one you are logged in on, with default search dates starting 7 days from the current date using your local timezone.
Using the Daily Sales Breakdown report
This report is best used on a daily basis to see a summary of sales by Master Category. It helps you evaluate what categories of products are selling well or not, as well as your profit for each category. This breakdown will help you answer:
- How much in returns were processed for a given day for each product category?
- How much profit did you make for each product category?
- How much in taxes did you collect for each product category?
- How much in pre-tax loyalty was removed from gross sales to reach your net sales?
- How much in post-tax loyalty was applied to orders for each category?
- How much money did I collect via each payment method?
Column configuration
Columns in this report can be rearranged or removed to give you a better snapshot at the exact data you want to see. After running the report, if there are columns you wish to configure, click the Settings gear on the right hand side of the report table to unselect a column and drag and drop the column order.
Descriptions and calculations
The table below provides a description of each of the columns in this report and whether this field is calculated or is base data. Calculated data type describes columns that are made up of multiple points of data being combined such as Net Sales, Gross Sales, or Total Inventory Sold. A Base data type describes data derived from a single point of interest such as a Package ID, Category, or Location Name.

Location Name | Base data | Name of the specific location under an organization in which the data on the report is associated. |
Master Category | Base data | Master category assigned to the product. Typically flower, edibles, etc. |
Order Date | Base data | The date the order was completed. |
Customer Type | Base data | Type of customer making a purchase. Customer types are configured in the backoffice. |
Budtender Name | Base data | Name of the person completing the sale. |
Gross Sales | Calculation | Gross Sales is the Price * Quantity sold for every item that was sold in the selected time range. |
Returned Amount | Calculation | Total monetary amount of the items returned. |
Discounted Amount | Calculation | Total amount of the discount(s) applied, excluding loyalty as discount. |
Loyalty as Discount | Calculation | Amount of loyalty applied as a discount toward the pre-tax subtotal of the order. |
Net Sales | Calculation | Total amount of gross sales minus discounts, returns, and loyalty applied as discounts. |
Inventory Cost | Calculation | Wholesale cost of the inventory. |
Inventory Profit | Calculation | Amount profited from the inventory sold, which is calculated as Net Sales minus the Inventory Costs. |
Loyalty as Payment | Calculation | Amount of loyalty applied directly to the cart (post-tax) as a redemption method which is spread evenly across all items in the cart. Only shown in the All row of this report. |
Tax Amount | Calculation | Total amount of tax that the consumer paid. |
Invoice Total | Calculation | Net Sales plus Taxes, Revenue fees, Non Revenue fees, and Rounded Amount minus Loyalty as Payment. This will only show in the “All” row of this report. |
Amount Paid in Cash | Calculation | Amount cash received in an order. Only shown in the All row of this report. |
Amount Paid in Debit | Calculation | Amount charged via a third-party debit card processor for an order. Only shown in the All row of this report. |
Amount Paid in Dutchie Pay | Calculation | Amount received in a Dutchie Pay payment, or Merrco in Canada. Only shown in the All row of this report. |
Cash Returned to Customer | Calculation | The amount of money in cash that is returned to the customer at the time of sale. For example, this would be $2 if a customer bought $18 worth of product with a $20 bill. This could also be cash given back during a refund (if it's a cash refund) |
