Learn how to limit the collection of customers' personally identifiable information (PII) from customer profiles in bulk.
Dutchie POS has an optional feature that allows operators in states that limit the collection of customers' personally identifiable information (PII) to remove PII from customer profiles in bulk.
How to enable
Contact Dutchie Support or your CSM to have this feature enabled for your location.
Remove customer PII
- In the Backoffice, go to Customers.
- Check the box for Show removable customers. This filters the list to show only customers who lack an email address, phone number, and MMJID in their profile.
- With the Show removable customers box checked, check the box in the header row to select all removable customers.
- Select Bulk actions > Remove customer data.
- A confirmation modal appears. Note that this does not delete the customer profiles. To retain purchase history, this action will anonymize the customer profiles by removing names and other PII, rendering the customer profiles identifiable only by the system-generated customer ID number. Customer ID numbers appear on printed receipts so that if a return is necessary the budtender can look up the purchase history and original transaction based on customer ID.
- Click Confirm.
