Clean up duplicate customer profiles in Dutchie POS Backoffice

Dutchie’s Clean up duplicate profiles feature helps you manage duplicate profiles in the Backoffice. Learn more in this article.

With the Clean up duplicate profiles tool, you can merge multiple customer profiles in bulk and use profile data to identify suggested customer profiles that can be merged.

Note for Alpine IQ users

Before merging duplicate customers in Dutchie POS, turn on the Mirror Archives option in Alpine IQ's integration settings for Dutchie POS. This will help keep customer profiles and point balances in sync between Dutchie POS and Alpine IQ.

Identify duplicate profiles

  1. Go to Customers.
  2. Select Actions > Clean up duplicate profiles
  3. Click the Search button. 
  4. In the window, select one of these search Criteria. Note that the search results will not include profiles with a blank value for your selected criteria. 
    • Full name and date of birth
    • MMJID
    • State ID
    • Phone number
    • Email
  5. Click Search. The system will find and display any profiles that have duplicate information for your selected criteria.
  6. Click the caret to view details about a set of potential duplicates.

  7. Dutchie uses a scoring system to rate duplicates for completeness and suggests a profile to keep, listing other less-complete profiles below. MMJID, driver's license number, date of birth, and transaction history are weighted heavier than other factors in the scoring system. Medical profiles are also more likely to be suggested over recreational profiles. You can accept Dutchie's suggestion or choose a different profile to merge the duplicates into.

  8. Click Merge profiles into selected to merge the duplicate profiles into the selected profile.

Bulk merge duplicate profiles

Dutchie gives you the option to quickly merge duplicate profiles in bulk without reviewing each potential duplicate.

  1. After you've performed a search and generated a list of duplicate profiles, use the checkboxes to select multiple rows.
  2. Select Bulk actions > Remove duplicate profiles.
  3. A confirmation message summarizes the changes you're about to make. When removing duplicate profiles in bulk, the system keeps its suggested profile for each set of duplicates and does not allow you to review each set individually. Select Confirm or Cancel. Note that merging customer profiles can't be undone.

View cleanup history

The View cleanup history function allows you to see a record of profiles that have been merged. You can see the merge date, who it was merged by, the number of profiles archived, and the status of the merge. To see a history go to Customer > Actions > View cleanup history
