Florida | Create delivery drivers and vehicles in Dutchie POS

This article details how to create and manage drivers (called Employees in BioTrack) and delivery vehicles for Florida BioTrack operators.
Things to know
- Dispensary employees are required to have individual user accounts.
- When creating a driver/employee in the Backoffice the BioTrack driver ID field can’t be edited. When you create the user, a BioTrack driver ID will automatically be assigned from BioTrack.
- If the employee already has an email address registered with MMUR, they should use this same email address when setting up their account and employee profile.
Create a driver/employee
Creating a Driver profile in Dutchie POS automatically generates a corresponding Employee profile in BioTrack.
If you’re creating a driver who will also use the Dutchie Register or Mobile Checkout, be sure to create a user profile for the driver first.
- In the Backoffice, go to Delivery > Configure > Drivers
- Click Add driver.
- Enter the driver’s:
- Name
- License number (driver’s license number)
- Date of birth
- Date hired

State ID number
- A value is required in this field
- This can also be the driver's license number, or you can enter another unique identifier such as an employee ID
- Phone number
- Click the toggle to turn on POS / Mobile checkout access so the driver can tender and close out transactions with the Register or Mobile Checkout.
- Click Linked user and choose the user profile the driver will use on the Register / Mobile checkout.
- Copy the Mobile checkout URL and provide it to your drivers. Drivers will use this URL to access the Register and tender and close orders out in the field. This URL is not driver-specific.
- Optional: upload a photo of the driver under Identification image.
- Click Add.
Note: The BioTrack driver ID field will be generated from BioTrack once the driver has been created. This field can’t be updated or changed.
Update or delete employees
To update an employee profile, select the Driver from the list. Make any needed changes and click Update. All fields can be edited except the BioTrack ID.
To delete an employee, click the three dots … next to the Driver’s name and select Delete.
Create a delivery vehicle
- Go to Delivery > Configure > Cars.
- Click Add car, or click the 3 dots next to a car to edit an existing car.
- Enter a Name that easily identifies the vehicle.
- Enter the vehicle Make (e.g., Honda) and Model (e.g., Civic).
- Enter the License plate number and License state.
- Provide the vehicle’s VIN, Year, and Color.
- Click the toggle to turn on Mobile checkout. This enables the driver to tender and close out orders delivered with this vehicle out in the field.
- When you turn on Mobile checkout, Dutchie automatically creates a new Register that the driver will use to tender and close orders delivered with this vehicle. The vehicle model and license plate are used as the default register name. This register will automatically appear in Settings > Devices > Registers.
- Click Add.
