Customize printed receipts with logos and QR codes in Dutchie POS

Customize your printed receipts by adding a logo file or by generating QR codes in the Backoffice. This lets you enhance brand visibility and engage customers with survey links, promotions, and more.

Note that logos and QR codes only appear on printed receipts, not on email receipts.

Before you begin

Receipt printers connected via PrintNode must be configured with the correct printer type setting to print logos and QR codes. This does not apply to printers connected via WebUSB.

  1. In the Backoffice, go to Settings > Devices.
  2. Click the Printers tab.
  3. Select a receipt printer.
  4. In the Type dropdown, select the proper setting for your printer:
    • For Epson receipt printers, select Epson.
    • For Star mC-Print3 and TSP100IV receipt printers, select Star print.
    • For Star TSP100, TSP100II, and TSP100III "futurePRNT" receipt printers, select Star graphic.
  5. Click Save.
  6. Refresh the Register window/browser tab to pull in the new printer setting.

Add a logo to your receipts

Logos print in black and white, and we recommend uploading an image with a transparent background in PNG, JPG, or SVG format. To add a logo to your receipts, upload an image file in the Backoffice.

  1. Go to Settings > Receipts & Tickets > Receipts tab
  2. In the Upload logo section, select Choose file to upload a custom logo or brand name.

Generate QR code for your receipts

QR codes can be configured in the Backoffice to link to promotions, loyalty programs, customer surveys, and more.

  1. Go to Settings > Receipts and scroll down to QR code configurations.
  2. The QR code text will appear just above the QR code on receipts.
  3. Enter a QR code URL. Dutchie will automatically generate a QR code on your receipts that directs to this URL. QR code URLs are limited to 2048 characters.

Troubleshooting

If your QR code or logo doesn't print correctly on receipts, or if your receipts print with random characters, double-check your printer has the correct Type setting selected in the Backoffice (see above). Or consider switching to WebUSB connection for your receipt printers.
