These instructions will help your team perform basic actions on their Dutchie provided Dutchie Hub terminals, including the PAX A920 mobile terminal and the PAX Aries8 desktop terminal. 

 

Pax Terminal Passwordpax9876@@
Accessing Android Home Screen
  • Swipe up on the terminal screen, tap the < icon twice.
  • A password prompt will appear, enter support provided password. 
    • Note: You may be prompted for the password twice, please ensure you get back to the Android home screen where you can see and access all apps on the terminal. 
Access DC Direct App
  • Swipe up on the terminal screen, tap the < icon twice.
  • A password prompt will appear, enter support provided password. 
    • Note: You may be prompted for the password twice, please ensure you get back to the Android home screen where you can see and access all apps on the terminal. 
  • Select the DC Direct App to view status of network connections, all icons should be green. This app can also be used to download new EMV parameters - Tap the Get Parameters button and allow download to pull, then device will reboot. 
Download EMV Parameters
  • On the Dutchie Hub welcome screen, fast tap 5 times.
  • Tap the EMVParamDownload button and wait 5 seconds for download to start.
  • Once download is complete, device will reboot. 
Alternative if EMVParamDownload does not appear or work:
  • Swipe up on the terminal screen, tap the < icon twice.
  • A password prompt will appear, enter support provided password. 
    • Note: You may be prompted for the password twice, please ensure you get back to the Android home screen where you can see and access all apps on the terminal. 
  • Select the DC Direct App to view status of network connections, all icons should be green. This app can also be used to download new EMV parameters - Tap the Get Parameters button and allow download to pull, then device will reboot. 
Access Payloader App
  • Swipe up on the terminal screen, tap the < icon twice.
  • A password prompt will appear, enter support provided password. 
    • Note: You may be prompted for the password twice, please ensure you get back to the Android home screen where you can see and access all apps on the terminal. 
  • Select the Payloader App and enter package download codes as provided by Dutchie.
Access PX Retailer App
  • Swipe up on the terminal screen, tap the < icon twice.
  • A password prompt will appear, enter support provided password. 
    • Note: You may be prompted for the password twice, please ensure you get back to the Android home screen where you can see and access all apps on the terminal. 
  • Select the PX Retailer
  • Enter password pax12345
Access Settings App
  • Swipe up on the terminal screen, tap the < icon twice.
  • A password prompt will appear, enter support provided password. 
    • Note: You may be prompted for the password twice, please ensure you get back to the Android home screen where you can see and access all apps on the terminal. 
  • Select the Settings App 
  • Enter support provided password.
Confirm Dutchie Hub Version
  • Swipe up on the terminal screen, tap the < icon twice.
  • A password prompt will appear, enter support provided password. 
    • Note: You may be prompted for the password twice, please ensure you get back to the Android home screen where you can see and access all apps on the terminal. 
  • Select the Settings App 
  • Enter support provided password
  • Select Apps > Dutchie Hub
  • Below the logo will be the software version in format X.X.X - On A920s this may appear at the bottom of the Dutchie Hub app page. 
Disable Sleep Mode 
  • Swipe up on the terminal screen, tap the < icon twice.
  • A password prompt will appear, enter support provided password. 
    • Note: You may be prompted for the password twice, please ensure you get back to the Android home screen where you can see and access all apps on the terminal. 
  • Select the Settings App > Enter support provided password
  • Select Display > Sleep and set to "Never" 
Reboot TerminalHold down power button and select Reboot
Wifi Settings Both Aries 8 & A920
 
  • Once the Welcome screen displayed, swipe up from the bottom of the screen
  • Touch the back key  twice
  • When prompted for Back Desktop password:
    • Type support provided password
    • Touch ENTER
  • From the Android Desktop touch:
    • SETTINGS > enter support provided password
    • Touch OK
  • Select NETWORK & INTERNET > Wi-FI
  • Select your Wi-Fi network and type your network’s password > Touch CONNECT
  • Touch the home button  to return to Android Desktop

    Note: You must have a password protected wifi network for the terminals to work.
Ethernet Settings

Aries 8 only
 

  • Plug in an Ethernet cable to the back of the terminal into the port labeled LAN
    • The other end of the cable should be connected into the internet router
  • Hold down the power button then select REBOOT to reboot the terminal
    • If your terminal was connected to WiFi, complete the steps under Disconnecting WiFi prior to rebooting

      Note: If your router does not have available ports an Ethernet Switch can be used. It is recommended to use a managed switch and to consult an IT professional.

Disconnecting from Wi-Fi

  • Once the Welcome screen is displayed swipe up from the bottom of the screen
  • Touch the back key ◁ twice
  • When prompted for password:
    • Type support provided password
    • Touch ENTER
       
  •  OR From the Android Desktop, touch:
    • SETTINGS > enter support provided password
    • Touch OK
    • Select NETWORK & INTERNET > Wi-FI
    • Select your Wi-Fi network > Touch FORGET
    • Touch the home button ○ to return to Android Desktop
4G 
  • Only the A920 has 4G capabilities, the Aries 8 does not.
  • Currently customer’s need to obtain their own SIM cards from ATT or TMobile
  • Verizon is not supported
  • The SIM card needs to be Cellular not just Data
Set up:
  • Install the SIM card into SIM 1
  • Disconnect WiFi - if connected (see above)
  • Then reboot the terminal
  • From there you should see a 4G connection.
Hotspot

 A920 and Aries8 can be connected to hotspots.

Note: this is the least reliable connection option, so you will want to ensure the carrier has coverage in your area.

Generally only the A920 would be connected to a hotspot because it is a mobile unit, where as the Aries 8 is not. This would be connected to as any wireless network (see Wifi steps above).

5. Select System > Date & time
6. Uncheck Automatic date & time
7. Uncheck Automatic time zone
8. Select time zone
9. Select Set date
10. Select Set time
11. Select back arrow

 

Set Auto Reboot

It is recommended that the auto reboot is enabled so that the terminals reboot daily.

A920
1. Touch bottom of the screen and scroll up until you see the back arrow.
2. Enter password pax9876@@
3. Select Settings
4. Enter password pax9876@@
5. Select Security & location
6. Scroll down to Scheduled time reboot
7. Select ON
8. Enter 03:00:00 reboot at 3am

Aries 8
Note: The reboot will occur 24 hours after the toggle is turned on, so do not turn it on during business hours
1. Touch bottom of the screen and scroll up until you see the back arrow.
2. Enter password pax9876@@
3. Select Settings
4. Enter password pax9876@@
5. Select Security
6. Scroll down to Reboot in 24 hours
7. Toggle off/on
