Use this guide to properly configure low-dose liquid edible products (those with under 4mg of THC per serving) in compliance with Washington state regulations.
Create a purchase limit
- In the Backoffice, go to Settings Taxes & compliance.
- On the Purchase limits tab, click Add limit.
- For Customer type, select All customers.
- For Category, select Combined Inhalable.
Note: We recommend using the Combined Inhalable category for low-dose liquid edibles because this is an existing limit category in Dutchie POS that is not otherwise used in Washington. - In the Purchase limit field, enter 0.2 grams.
- For Limit type, select Per Purchase.
- Click Save.
Create a product category
- In the Backoffice, go to Products Configure.
- On the Categories tab, click Add category.
- Enter a Category name such as Low-dose liquid edible.
- Enter a Master category, such as Edibles, Drinks, or Liquid Edible.
- For Purchase limit category, select Combined Inhalable.
- For Available for, select All enabled customer types selected.
- For Regulatory category, select Liquid Edible.
- For Tax categories, select your cannabis tax category.
- Click Add.
If you also have DoH-certified low-dose liquid edibles, create a separate category for those products and select the tax category you created specifically for DoH-certified cannabis products.
Create individual products
Create products in your Catalog and assign them to the product category you created in the previous section.
Be sure to enter the product’s total THC content per unit in the Grams/concentration field.
