Set up loyalty point multipliers in Dutchie POS

Loyalty point multipliers allow you to incentivize your Dutchie loyalty program members with promotions like double points for shopping on a specific day of the week, purchasing certain products or brands, or a wide range of other criteria.

This feature applies only to Dutchie POS loyalty programs and is only available with the Loyalty and Marketing upgrade package.

Create a point multiplier

  1. Go to Marketing > Discounts.
  2. Select Application method: Automatic.

  3. Configure any other desired conditions in the Details and Requirements sections. For example, this "2x Tuesdays" point multiplier will only apply on Tuesdays.

  4. In the Rewards section, select Discount method: Loyalty multiplier and enter a Multiplier value (i.e., 2 = double points, 3 = triple points, etc.)

Tip: You can enter a Multiplier of 0 to prevent loyalty point accrual under the conditions you set.

  5. In the Online details section, you can add an optional Online name, Description, and Image to appear on your online menu.

  6. Review the Summary and select Create discount.

Use a "0x" multiplier to prevent point accrual

An alternative use case for this feature is to prevent point accrual under certain criteria by entering a zero in the Multiplier field.

A 0x multiplier can apply to any of the same criteria as any other multiplier or discount. For example, if you configure a 0x multiplier that applies to the Recreational customer type, only medical customers will accrue points (as required in New York). Or, set up a customer group for your employees and apply a 0x multiplier to that customer group to prevent employees from accruing points.

Loyalty multipliers in the Register

Loyalty multipliers work just like automatic discounts in the Register and will automatically apply to any loyalty member's cart that meets the criteria you defined. In this example, the multiplier will be automatically applied to loyalty members' carts on Tuesdays.

With 0x multipliers, the "multiplier applied" message does not appear in the Register.

Whether a customer is a loyalty member depends on how your loyalty program is set up. If your loyalty program requires customer opt-in, multipliers will only apply to customers who have opted in. If your loyalty program is automatic, multipliers will apply to all customers. See Set up a Dutchie POS loyalty program for more details.
