Configure Exclusive Collections for specific customer segments to restrict product visibility on your Dutchie E-Commerce menu.
Exclusive Collections allow you to limit the visibility of certain products to specific customer segments. When a collection is marked as exclusive, only authorized users who are logged into their accounts can view the collection, see the associated products in search results, or purchase those items.
Exclusive Collections are also sometimes called Loyalty Only collections, VIP Menus, or Secret Menus.
Things to know
- This product is available to customers using Dutchie Point of Sale and Dutchie E-Commerce.

Standard vs. Exclusive Collections
From the Collections screen in the Dutchie E-Commerce Admin, you can create both Standard and Exclusive Collections
Standard Collections: Can be viewed by anyone visiting your webpage, kiosk, or mobile
Exclusive Collection: Can be viewed by a designated individual customer, a person assigned to a specific customer segment or loyalty tier, if they are logged into their Dutchie Account.
When you create an Exclusive Collection, you will have the option to narrow the audience down to specific segments:
What your customers will see
Customers will see different items in the homepage carousel depending on whether they are in the audience for Exclusive Collections, and if they are logged in to their Dutchie Account.
| Customer Status | Homepage Carousel | Search & Product Results |
| Logged Out | Hidden | Collection items are hidden |
| Logged In (Not in Segment) | Hidden | Collection items are hidden |
| Logged In (In Segment) | Visible (Special Carousel) | Visible (with "Exclusive for You" badge) |
Dutchie POS Backoffice setup
Before moving to the E-Commerce Admin, you must establish the "Who" and the "What" in your POS system. To create Exclusive Collections, you’ll first need to tag products and set up customer segments in Dutchie POS.
Tag Your Products
To make sure the E-Commerce site knows which products belong in this exclusive group, you need a shared identifier. Tags act as bridges that pull these specific items into your collection automatically. You can use existing product tags or create and edit new ones at Products > Configure > Tags.
To apply tags to products
- Go to Dutchie POS Admin > Products > Inventory.
- Select the products you want to include.
-
Once you’ve selected your products, click the Bulk Actions button and choose Edit Tags from the drop down.
-
Now you can add or remove tags from your product. Choose the tags you want to apply and click the Save button.
Create segments to define your audiences
You use segments to define the audience or audiences for your exclusive collections.
To create Customer segments
- Go to Customers > Segments.
- Click Create Segment.
- Choose the rules and conditions to apply to your segment.
- Click Save.
Read Learn how to set up segments in Dutchie Point of Sale for more detailed information about setting up Segments in Dutchie Backoffice.
Dutchie E-Commerce Set-up
Create an Exclusive Collection
- From Dutchie E-Commerce Admin go to Collections.
- Click Create collection or select an existing collection to edit.
- Toggle the setting for Exclusive.
- In the Audience section, select the specific customer segments that should have access to this collection.
- Complete the steps to set up a Collection (Including scheduling, setting up conditions, and managing the appearance).
- Click Save or Publish.
Verify exclusive visibility
To ensure your Exclusive Collection is configured correctly, you will want to test the visibility on your live menu:
- View your Dutchie E-Commerce menu without logging in. The Exclusive Collection and its specific products should not appear in the navigation or search results.
- Log in as a customer who belongs to the designated Audience segment.
- Verify that the Exclusive Collection is now visible on the homepage or in the navigation.
- Search for an exclusive product (e.g., "Chocolate Hashberry") to confirm it appears in search results only while logged in.
Troubleshooting
- Products are visible to everyone: Ensure the Exclusive toggle is enabled and that the products are not also listed in a separate, non-Exclusive Collection.
- Eligible customers cannot see the collection: Confirm the customer is logged in with the email address associated with the correct segment or loyalty tier.
- Badge not appearing: Check the customization settings within the collection to ensure the Product card badge toggle is turned on.
