When do I need to map my categories for the online menu?

Use this article as a Marketing Manager or Inventory Manager to troubleshoot Dutchie E-commerce products that are miscategorized or hidden due to a mismatch between POS categories and Dutchie menu categories.

What is the issue?

When products sync from the POS to the online menu, they must be mapped to a Dutchie category, such as Flower, Edibles, or Vapes. If a category is unmapped, the items in that category will not appear on the website.

What’s causing the issue?

This happens when new categories are created in the POS but have not been assigned a corresponding category in the Dutchie Admin portal.

How do I solve the issue?

  1. Log in to Dutchie Admin and navigate to Settings > Integrations.
  2. Select your active POS integration and click the Categories tab.
  3. Review the list of categories and locate any that say Select Category.
  4. Use the dropdown menu to match your POS category to the appropriate Dutchie E-Commerce Category.
  5. Click Save at the bottom of the page.
  6. Allow 20 minutes for the items in those categories to populate on the online menu.
  7. If items still don't appear after 20 minutes, verify the integration is syncing correctly by checking the Last Sync timestamp.
  8. Additionally, miscategorized items can also result from mapping a POS category to the wrong Dutchie E-Commerce Category.
