Delivery minimums ensure that every trip is profitable. If the minimum is not enforced, the store may spend more on driver wages and fuel than it earns from the sale, resulting in a net loss for the delivery program.

What's causing the issue?

This is typically caused by the delivery minimum being configured incorrectly, or by a delivery area-specific minimum (zip code group or mile radius tier) overriding the general delivery minimum with a lower value.

How do I solve the issue?

Verify your delivery minimum in Ordering Settings

  1. Log into Dutchie Admin.
  2. Navigate to Ordering Settings and locate the Delivery order type configuration.
  3. Find the delivery minimum field and confirm it reflects the minimum pre-tax subtotal you want to require for delivery orders.
  4. Click Save if you make any changes.

Check for delivery area-specific minimums

If you use Delivery Zones (zip code groups or mile radius tiers), each zone can have its own delivery minimum that overrides the general delivery minimum for customers in that area.

  1. In Dutchie Admin, review your Delivery Area or Delivery Zone settings.
  2. Check whether any zip code groups or mile radius tiers have a minimum set lower than your general delivery minimum.
  3. Update any area-specific minimums as needed, then Save.

Confirm order type minimums are independent

Each order type in Dutchie (pickup, curbside, drive-thru, delivery) has its own minimum setting. There is no global order minimum that overrides all order types. If you notice a different order type has a lower minimum, that will not affect your delivery minimum — they are configured independently.
