How do I change my account email address?

What is the issue?

Users may need to update the email address they use to log in to Dutchie. The process for making this change differs significantly depending on whether the user is a retail customer or a dispensary employee using Dutchie POS or Dutchie E-Commerce.

What’s causing the issue?

This request usually arises when a staff member or customers changes their email, or loses access to their original inbox. Because the email serves as the primary unique identifier for security and permissions, it cannot always be changed by the user directly.

How do I solve the issue?

Before you begin, identify which Dutchie platform you are working to log into, as the steps for each are different.

For Customers using Dutchie.com:

  1. Log in to your Dutchie account on the dispensary's website or the Dutchie app.
  2. Navigate to My Account and click into Account Details.
  3. Locate the Email Address field and select the option to update or edit.
  4. Enter your New Email Address and save your changes.
  5. Check your inbox for a Verification Link to confirm the change.

For Dispensary Staff using Dutchie POS Backoffice:

  1. Identify your organization's account administrator (typically a General Manager or Owner).
  2. If you have administrative permissions with Dutchie POS, navigate to Settings > Users, and click into the staff member's profile to edit their email. 

For Dispensary Staff using Dutchie E-Commerce Admin:

  1. Identify your organization's Dutchie Admin account administrator with the required Store Settings and User Management permissions.
  2. If you have administrative permissions, navigate to Settings > Users in Dutchie Admin to edit a staff member's profile.
    • Note: If the email address is already associated with a consumer account, this may create errors.
