New York | Assign Item Brands to products in your Catalog

Effective May 15, 2026, all New York operators except testing labs are required to assign Item Brands to all final form, count-based ("each") products (NY_IB_0014). This article shows how to comply with these requirements in Dutchie.

Create Item Brands in Metrc

  1. In Metrc, go to Admin > Item Brands.

  2. Click Add Item Brands.

  3. Click the + button to add more fields to add multiple brands. Enter the names of all brands you carry and then Create Item Brands.

Enable Metrc Item Brands in Dutchie

  1. In the Dutchie Backoffice, go to Settings > Integrations > Metrc.
  2. On the Settings tab, scroll to the Use Metrc Brands setting and make sure it's set to Yes.

  3. Click Update.

Assign Item Brands to products in your Catalog

  1. Go to Products > Catalog.
  2. Click the More filters button and filter your Catalog for Quantity-based items.

  3. Use the checkboxes to select final-form/finished-good products belonging to the same Metrc Item Brand, then select Bulk actions > Bulk edit product details.bo_products_bulk edit product details.png
  4. From the left dropdown, select Metrc Brand.

  5. From the right dropdown, select the Metrc brand you want to assign the selected products to. If you don't see brands you recently created in Metrc, click Refresh within the dropdown.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Repeat until you've assigned Metrc Brands to all final-form, quantity-based products in your Catalog.

You can also edit the Metrc Brand assignment of a individual product from the product detail page.
