Find and delete archived, out of stock menu items in Dutchie E-Commerce

This article explains how to find and delete archived, out-of-stock products from your Dutchie E-Commerce menu.

When a product becomes is archived or is out of stock, it may remain publicly accessible via URL on your Dutchie E-Commerce menu, even if it is no longer available for purchase. In some cases, these products may still appear as available for backorder. This can create compliance and brand enforcement risks, as trademark holders can discover and flag products that should have been removed from your storefront.

The Show archived products feature gives users the ability to surface and permanently remove archived products directly from the menu management interface, with no support ticket required.

Things to know

  • This feature is available to all dispensaries using Dutchie E-Commerce.
  • Deleting an archived product removes its public URL and removes the product from your storefront. This action cannot be undone.
  • Archived products are products that have been marked out of stock or otherwise archived in your POS system. They are distinct from products that are simply toggled off or hidden.
  • Even after a product is archived or marked as out of stock in your POS, its URL may remain publicly accessible and the product may still appear available for backorder on your Dutchie E-Commerce menu. The archived product deletion feature resolves this.

Delete an archived menu item

  1. From Dutchie E-Commerce admin go to Menu.
  2. Click the Show archived products checkbox to surface any archived product.

  3. Find the product you want to remove.

  4. Click the Delete button for that product.
  5. Review the confirmation message, then confirm the deletion to proceed.

Note: This action cannot be undone. Once you delete an archived product, it cannot be restored through the UI. If a deleted product needs to be recovered, it will require an engineering operation. Review carefully before confirming.
