Bulk-create users for your enterprise

If you manage a chain with several locations, you can create a batch of new dispensary user accounts in one pass by uploading a CSV instead of adding each person one at a time. Each row in the file describes one new user: their contact info, their role, which location(s) they need access to, and which features they can use.

This is a create-only tool — it never edits or removes an existing user. If a row's email already belongs to an account, that row is skipped and reported back to you instead of overwriting anything.

Non-chain admins can also use this tool to bulk manage users.

Where to find it

From your enterprise/chain-level dashboard, go to Settings > Bulk Create Users. This is available to enterprise admins and chain admins with user-management permission, as well as super admins.

Step 1: Look up each location's keyword

Every location in your enterprise has a short, unique keyword (its cName). The page opens with a reference table listing every location's keyword next to its name and address, sorted alphabetically so it's easy to scan on chains with many locations:

Look up the keyword for any location you want to grant a new user access to.

Step 2: Download and fill in the template

Download the CSV template — it's pre-filled with a few example rows so you can see the expected format. It uses the same layout as the single-location bulk-add-users template you may already know, plus one addition: a Locations column.

Column What goes here
Full Name, Email, Phone The new user's contact info.
Function Their role/title (for example, Customer Sales, Store Operations). Leave blank if not applicable.
Locations One or more location keywords from the reference table, separated by semicolons (;) for more than one — or ALL to grant access to every location in the enterprise.
Analytics, Customers, Menu Management, Messaging, Orders, Specials & Coupons, Store Settings, User Management One column per feature. Enter Yes to grant it, or No (or leave blank) to skip it.
You can only grant permissions you already have
If a row tries to grant a feature you don't personally have access to, that one permission is quietly left off the new account rather than failing the whole row — the user is still created with everything else in the row applied.

Fill in one row per new person you want to create — never a row for someone who already has an account.

Step 3: Upload your completed file

Drag your finished CSV onto the upload area, or choose it from your computer:

The upload step accepts a .csv file by drag-and-drop or file picker.

Before anything is sent, the page parses the file and shows you a preview with a status for every row — this catches obvious problems (a malformed email, an unrecognized location keyword) before you import anything:

Review the preview table — every row should show "Ready" before you import.

Step 4: Import

Once you're happy with the preview, select the import button. Larger files are sent in batches automatically, with a progress indicator while they upload. When it finishes, you'll see exactly how many users were created — and if any rows failed, why:

A results summary confirms how many accounts were created.

Fix and re-upload failed rows
If some rows succeed and others don't, the successful ones are created — you don't need to start over. Fix only the failed rows (each comes with a specific reason, like an unknown location keyword or a duplicate email) and upload just those in a new file.

Frequently asked questions

Does this affect any existing users?

No. This tool only creates new accounts. If a row's email matches an existing user, that row is skipped and reported back to you — no existing account or its permissions are ever changed.

Is there a limit on how many users I can upload at once?

Yes, there's a maximum file size the tool accepts per upload to keep imports fast and reliable. If you need to onboard more people than that, split them across a couple of files.

What happens if I misspell a location keyword?

That row is flagged in the preview (and again if it somehow gets past the preview) with a clear reason so you can fix the keyword and re-upload. Double-check spelling against the reference table at the top of the page — keywords must match exactly.

Can I grant a new user access to every location in the enterprise?

Yes — enter ALL in the Locations column instead of listing keywords. Note that you can only do this for locations/permissions you yourself have access to; you can't use ALL to grant someone broader access than you have.

I don't see "Bulk Create Users" in my Settings menu

This is available to enterprise/chain admins with user-management permission and to super admins. If you manage a chain and expect to see it, confirm your account has user-management access, or reach out to support.

Can I set a new user's role or title through this upload?

Yes — use the Function column with the same role labels available in the regular add-user form (for example, Customer Sales, Store Operations). An unrecognized label will cause that row to fail with a clear reason rather than saving something invalid.
