Coming soon: Configure the Mobile App tab in Chain Admin

Learn how to customize your branded mobile app's theme, product cards, navigation, and app.

The Mobile App tab in Chain Admin brings together everything you can configure about your mobile app, including visual branding, product cards, custom navigation, and your app's store listing details, into one consolidated view. Instead of visiting each location's Customize pages one at a time, you can switch between locations from a single picker without leaving the tab you are working in.

This is useful for people who need to keep branding consistent across locations, oversee the shopping experience across a chain, and who manage settings for a group of stores.

Because Theme & Branding, Product Cards, and Navigation are all per-location settings, you can give each store its own look and feel without affecting your other locations.

This feature applies to chain and enterprise accounts on the Dutchie E-Commerce Mobile App.

Before you begin

  • You must select a location before you can customize its Theme & Branding, Product Cards, or Navigation settings. These three tabs scope to whichever location you have selected.
  • The location picker only lists locations once your mobile app's basic identity (an iOS or Android app identifier) is configured under Store Settings. If you are still setting up your mobile app, configure this first.
  • Branding fields in Store Settings (short name, name, screenshots, icons, and splash colors) are open to any chain or enterprise admin. The App Store Connect and Play Console identity fields are restricted to super admins.
  • Changes do not go live until you publish them. You can preview your changes in the live mobile preview before publishing.
  • Switching locations carries your place across every tab (Theme & Branding, Product Cards, and Navigation), so you do not lose your progress when comparing or copying settings between stores.

Where to find it

From your enterprise or chain-level dashboard for Dutchie E-Commerce go to All Locations > Mobile App > Theme & Branding.

Select a location

Above the four tabs, you will find a Location dropdown listing every mobile-app-enabled location in your chain. Select a location once, and it stays selected as you move between tabs. You do not need to reselect it when you switch from Theme & Branding to Product Cards or Navigation.

Customize theme and branding

Theme & Branding covers the following settings:

SettingWhat it controls
Background ColorThe app's overall background color. Choose from a color wheel, saved presets, or an exact hex value.
Header ImageAn optional image shown behind your store name at the top of the app.
Background / Button / Loading DecorationA decorative accent shape layered behind the background, buttons, or loading state. Choose Angled, Curved, Jagged, Wavy, or None for a plain, flat look.
TabsChoose up to 5 bottom tabs to display (Shop, Cart, Specials, Loyalty, More), plus Tab Bar, Active Tab, and Inactive Tab colors. You can also toggle Show Tab Labels on or off.

Every color field opens the same picker: a hue and saturation gradient, a row of suggested presets (the number of presets varies by field), and a hex input for an exact match to your brand colors. Decorations apply live in the preview, so you can see the shape before committing to it.

Customize product cards

Product Cards controls exactly what information appears on a product card in your mobile app. You can independently toggle the following on or off:

  • Staff Pick badges
  • Strain type
  • Potency details
  • Effects
  • Discount names
  • Collection labels

The card preview uses real product data from your menu and updates to reflect your toggle choices.

Build custom navigation

Turn on custom navigation in Navigation to build a menu from five item types:

  • Link
  • Collection
  • Category
  • Brand
  • Section (a nested group of its own items)

Drag items into whatever order makes sense for your store. The navigation preview reflects what shoppers see in the app.

Apply changes across locations

Within Theme & Branding, Product Cards, and Navigation, you can use Apply to other locations to copy a setting to more than one location at once. On Theme & Branding, you can also use Publish to all locations to push all of your theme settings at once. Changing a setting for one location does not affect your other locations unless you use one of these options.

Configure store settings

Store Settings covers your app's store listing and publishing identity for your mobile app as a whole, rather than for an individual location, so this tab does not use the location picker. It includes:

  • Short Name and Name
  • Automatic Screenshot Generation
  • App Store Connect and Play Console identifiers (super admins only)
  • App icon (1024x1024) for iOS and Android
  • Splash Background for iOS and Android, with its own color picker offering suggested presets and a custom color option

What happened to the old locations

Mobile-specific settings that used to live on each location's classic Customize pages (Theme, Product Cards, and the old Custom Navigation tab) have moved to the Mobile App tab. Visiting one of those old pages now shows a banner directing you to the new consolidated tab instead of duplicating the same fields in two places. Desktop customization on those pages is unaffected and stays where it was.

Troubleshooting

Does changing a setting for one location affect my other locations? No. Theme & Branding, Product Cards, and Navigation are all per-location settings. Use Apply to other locations within each editor to copy a setting to more than one location, or Publish to all locations on Theme & Branding to push everything at once.

What are Background, Button, and Loading Decoration? They are optional decorative accent shapes (Angled, Curved, Jagged, or Wavy) that layer behind your background, buttons, or loading indicator. Leave any of them set to None for a plain, flat look.

Why is Store Settings different from the other three tabs? Store Settings covers your app's store listing and publishing identity, which applies to your mobile app as a whole rather than to an individual location, so it does not use the location picker.

I don't see any locations in the picker. The picker only lists locations once your mobile app's basic identity (an iOS or Android app identifier) is configured under Store Settings. If you are still setting up your mobile app, start there.

I don't see the Mobile App tab at all. This is rolling out gradually to chain and enterprise accounts. If you do not see it yet, check back soon or contact support.

Can I still access the desktop menu's Theme, Product Cards, and Navigation settings? Yes. Only the mobile-app-specific portions of those pages moved into the Mobile App tab. Desktop customization stays exactly where it was.

Who can edit Store Settings' app identifiers? Branding fields (short name, name, screenshots, icons, and splash colors) are open to any chain or enterprise admin. App Store Connect and Play Console identity fields remain restricted to super admins.
