Learn how to archive products in your Connect Catalog.
Active and archived products
The catalog distinguishes between active and archived products.
- Active products: These products are currently available for retailers to link to. Any updates to active product details instantly reflect on connected retailer menus.
-
Archived products: These products are not visible to any retailers.
- Products cannot be deleted, so archiving is used if a brand does not want that content to appear on menus.
- Archiving is also used for seasonal products that should not appear all year long.
If a retailer reports that they cannot see the products in your brand’s catalog, confirm those products have not been archived.
Why archive a product
Retailers link to the active catalog to populate their menus, so keeping it current matters. Archiving lets a brand pull a product out of circulation without losing it. The product's information is preserved, and the product can be reactivated later if needed.
Archiving does not affect existing retailer connections. It only controls whether the product is available to be connected on menus going forward.
How to archive a product
- Navigate to your product catalog in Connect.
- Locate the product you want to archive.
- Select Archive from the product's action menu.
- Confirm the action. The product moves out of the active catalog and is no longer visible to retailers for future connections.
How to archive products in bulk
- From your product catalog view, select the checkbox next to each product you want to archive (or use Select All to choose a filtered group).
- Choose Archive Selected from the bulk actions menu.
- Confirm the action to archive all selected products at once.
How to restore an archived product
- Go to your archived products view.
- Locate the product.
- Select Restore (or Unarchive).
The product returns to the active catalog with all of its original information intact and becomes visible to retailers again.
