Coming Soon: Manage API keys in Dutchie Backoffice

Soon you will be able to generate, regenerate, and revoke Public API keys for your integrators in Dutchie Backoffice, part of Dutchie Point of Sale, so IT Specialists, Dispensary Managers / General Managers, and Directors of Operations can manage keys without contacting Dutchie Support.

Public API keys let your integrators connect to your Dutchie Point of Sale (Dutchie POS) data. Today, you submit a support request each time you need a key generated, rotated, or removed. Soon, you will manage these keys yourself.

When the feature is available, you will be able to:

  • Generate a new API key when you connect an integrator that Dutchie has marked as self-serviceable.
  • Regenerate an existing key to maintain security.
  • Revoke a key immediately if it is compromised or you no longer use it.

This change will shorten the time it takes to set up or secure an integration, because you will no longer wait on a support response.

Things to know

  • You will need the Manage APIs permission to access the API Keys page.
  • You will be able to generate keys only for integrators that Dutchie marks as self-serviceable.
  • Each key will work only for the specific integrator you create it for. A key for one integrator will not work with another.
  • The system will mask keys by default and show only the last 6 characters.

What to expect

You will find the new page in Dutchie Backoffice under Settings > Integrations > API Keys. A notice on the page will remind you that keys work only for the integrator they were created for.
