Register and fulfillment devices
Devices
We recommend the following devices for front-of-house registers or back-of-house fulfillment terminals.
See the specific device requirements below if you use a Dutchie Ecommerce Order Terminal for online order fulfillment.
- Windows all-in-one PC (recommended), desktop, or laptop
- Microsoft Surface tablet
- Surface Pro is recommended due to the screen size
- Surface Pro X is not supported
- Elo PayPoint for Windows
- The Android and iPad versions of Elo PayPoint are not supported.
System requirements
Regardless of your device type, make sure it meets these minimum requirements:
- Minimum 8GB of RAM
- Hard drive capacity:
- Because Dutchie POS is a web-based application, it doesn't require significant hard drive space.
- Choose a device with ample hard drive capacity for any other applications or storage needs you may have.
- Input ports:
- 2 to 4 USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 ports are required depending on the number of peripherals at your point of sale (scanner, receipt printer, label printer, and scale).
- 1 USB-C port is required for a Customer-Facing Display (CFD).
- You can use a USB hub if your device doesn't have enough built-in USB ports.
Receipt and label printers
These printers are supported for both front-of-house registers and for back-of-house and fulfillment purposes. Bluetooth connection is not supported for any printers.
See the specific receipt printer requirements below if you use a Dutchie Ecommerce Order Terminal for online order fulfillment.

- APG 16”x16” Vasario Cash Drawer
- Star 16”x16” Cash Drawer
Product and ID scanners
If you use the VeriScan integration, use a VeriScan-supported device for scanning IDs instead of the ones listed below.
The following 2D scanners work for both product and ID scanning with Dutchie's in-house ID scanning solution:
- Zebra H-6672 (2D, wired only)
- Zebra DS2208
- Zebra CS6080
- Zebra CR6080
- Zebra DS2278 2D Barcode Scanner
1D scanners only work for product scanning, not ID scanning. Our recommended 1D scanner is the Zebra H-1670 (wired only).
Customer-facing displays
Customer-facing displays show the customer a summary of their transaction at the point of sale, which is required in certain markets.
- espresso 13" Touchscreen Display
- InnoView Portable Monitor

- Elo 10" Touchscreen Monitor

Payment terminals
Contact Dutchie Support or your CSM for details about Dutchie's payment solutions and related hardware.
Browser and network connection
We recommend accessing Dutchie POS via Google Chrome using a wired Ethernet connection for each point-of-sale device. Wi-Fi connection is also supported but tends to be less stable. You can use a USB-to-Ethernet hub or adapter for devices without built-in Ethernet ports.
See Dutchie POS networking recommendations for guidance on setting up your local network.
Dutchie Ecommerce hardware
Order Terminal
Full-stack customers who use both Dutchie POS and Dutchie Ecommerce should also have at least one Order Terminal for receiving and printing online orders.
The Dutchie Ecommerce Order Terminal app is only compatible with:
- Apple iPad from 2019 or newer
- Star Micronics mC-Print3 receipt printer, part number 39654310. The printer should have a USB-A data port labeled iPad 2.4A for connection to Apple iOS devices.
You can purchase these through Connection, PLS, Venture, or a supplier of your choice. You will also need thermal receipt paper, and a stand for the iPad is also recommended.
Kiosk
If you accept in-store orders through the Dutchie Kiosk, note that any web-capable device can be used as a Kiosk, though touchscreen tablets are recommended.
At minimum, Kiosk devices and networks should meet the following requirements:
- Memory: 3GB RAM
- Processor/CPU: 2.2Ghz x 4 cores
- Network: 200mbps down
- Recommended Browser: Chrome
What's not recommended or not compatible
While they are compatible with the Dutchie Register web application, Apple desktop and laptop computers are not recommended due to limited functionality with the recommended label and receipt printers. Apple computers are also not compatible with IDScan hardware or software.
The following devices are not compatible with Dutchie POS:
- Apple iPad
- Android OS
- Chromebook (any manufacturer)
- iPad or Android versions of Elo PayPoint
- Microsoft Surface Pro X
- Bluetooth printers
- Dymo Labelwriter Twin Turbo 450
