Dutchie POS Register Guest List overview

Create and check-in customers and view and monitor orders from the Guest List in Dutchie POS Register.

The Guest List is the main page of the Dutchie Register. This is where you can look up or create a customer, check them in, start or view guest orders, and monitor order statuses. Pre-orders from integrated e-commerce platforms will also automatically appear in your Guest List.

Search for a guest

Find a checked-in guest's card in the Guest List by typing their name or ID number, or press Enter to search all customer profiles and check in a guest manually.

You can search guest profiles based on name, state ID/driver's license number, or medical cannabis ID number.

You can customize which guest details appear in search results under Settings > Search.

Check in a guest by scanning their ID

Select the Scan ID button and then scan the small barcode on the back of the customer's ID. This is usually a driver's license or state ID card but could also be a medical marijuana ID card (MMJID) in some states.

Depending on your settings, scanning an ID may automatically check in the guest, or you may need to click Check in after scanning. If the guest doesn't already have a customer profile, scanning an ID may also automatically create a new profile, or prompt you to create one manually.

Create and check in a new guest

Check a guest in anonymously

Anonymous recreational sales is an optional feature. Contact Dutchie Support to enable this for your location. Learn more about the Anonymous cart workflow.

If your local regulations prevent you from saving customers' personal information, or if a guest prefers to remain anonymous, click Anonymous Guest to generate a one-time-use customer profile identified by an auto-generated number.

You can convert an anonymous guest into a regular guest and create a new customer profile for them, or you can add an existing profile to an in-progress anonymous transaction:

Use these buttons to:

  • Refresh your Guest List. The Guest List automatically refreshes every 10 seconds.
  • Filter guest cards based on room, order status, or order source.
  • Sort guest cards alphabetically by guest name, newest/oldest, or by time expected (for delivery orders).
  • Toggle between list view and column view.

Guest cards and card actions

Guests and their orders are represented as "cards" on your Guest List, organized by status. You can customize the information shown on your guest cards in the Backoffice.

Select any card to view the guest's cart/order. You can also click the three dots in the corner of the card for the following actions, which are also available in the cart view:

  • View the customer's full Profile
  • Change the order Status (you can also do this by clicking and dragging the card into a different status column)
  • Cancel the order and remove the card from the Guest List.
  • Release the order to another register.
    • Once you've added or assigned an item to an order, the order is assigned to the register you're using and the register name appears at the bottom of the card.
    • Users on other registers can't edit the order or change the status until you release the order.
    • Released/unassigned orders appear without register name on the card
  • View the Transaction Reference, which is an open text field where you can add reference information or other details about the order.
    • Transaction References are searchable in the Guest List and appear on the Closing report.
    • Use this field to reference the original transaction number when processing an exchange, or to add an alias to an anonymous guest.
  • Notify the guest that their pre-order is ready for pickup or delivery and move it to the appropriate status.
