Create batches, manage harvest stages, record wet and dry harvest weights, and record waste using the Batches tool in Dutchie POS.
Use the Batches section of the Cultivation module to create batches, manage harvest stages, and record wet and dry harvest weights as well as any waste produced.
Once your harvest is complete, you can package your harvested material into inventory packages and close harvest batches.

Harvest a batch
When a batch is ready for harvest:
- Go to Cultivation > Batches.
- Search for the batch you’re harvesting and click the 3 dots next to it.
- Select Harvest.
- Enter the Harvest details:
- Room
- Start date
- Harvest units
- Click Save.
You’ll return to this same page to record weights at each phase of the harvest.
Record plant serial numbers and initial weights
Begin your harvest data collection by entering each plant’s serial number and initial weight.
- Enter individual plant weights. There are a few ways you can do this:
- Manually enter serial numbers and weights
- Use a barcode scanner to scan each plant tag, then manually enter the weight of each plant.
- Click Download template, enter plant serial numbers and weights into the template file, then click Upload plants and select the template file.
- Click Save.
The total of the individual weights appears in both the Total plant weight and Leaf weight fields.
Record wet weights
Once you’ve separated wet waste from the plants:
- Enter the remaining Leaf weight.
- Enter the total weight of wet trim, stem, or other waste in the Wet waste field.
You may have additional wet waste fields to fill in if you have the Use Detailed Wet Weights feature flag turned on.
- Click Save.
If you’re producing fresh frozen bud, skip to the packaging phase at this point.
Record dry weights
When the curing process is complete, record your dry weights:
- In the Dry weights section, record:
- Net bud weight
- Trim weight
- Stem waste
- Leaf waste
- Total
- Click Save.
Report and finish your harvest
The harvest is considered complete once you have recorded initial plant weights, wet weights, dry weights, and waste weights.
When you’re ready to finalize your harvest and report all data to your state traceability system (if applicable):
- Verify all entries on the harvest page.
- Click Report.
- Go to Cultivation > Batches.
- Click the 3 dots next to the batch and select Finish harvest to prevent any further changes to the harvest worksheet.
Go to Cultivation > Harvests to view all finished harvests and plan for future harvests of the same strain.
If you need to correct any errors after finishing and reporting your harvest, you can un-finish and change the stage of a harvest under Cultivation > Batches, but this only affects the batch/harvest in Dutchie POS. You will also need to manually make the same changes in your state traceability system.
