Learn about tools available in Dutchie POS to manage your operation's cultivation processes.
The Cultivation module is where you manage plants, batches, harvests, waste, and packaging for cultivation facilities.
You can think of cultivation processes in terms of these main phases:
- Add batches of clones/immature plants to your inventory.
- Once your clones are ready to be tracked individually, convert them to plants.
- As your plants grow, track and update their progress through propagation, vegetation, and flowering.
- When your plants are ready for harvest, record your final wet weights, dry weights, and waste.
- Package harvest batches into products, which you’ll manage from the Inventory module.
Things to consider
The Cultivation module interacts with many other areas of the system. Before getting started with Cultivation, be sure to complete these tasks first:
- Set up plant rooms and inventory rooms.
- Add strains to the system.
- Plan your products. Typically, cultivation facilities require at least one weight-based product per strain.
- Create Product Catalog entries for additives so you can record the application of additives to plants during the vegetation stage.
- Consider customizing your system’s identifiers for product SKUs and, where permitted, package IDs and batch IDs. Note that in most markets, package IDs and batch IDs are generated by an official traceability system like Metrc or BioTrack. Learn more about customizing package ID, batch ID, and SKU formats.
