Create offers and rewards with Dutchie Ecommerce
What are Offers?
Offers (formerly BOGO) are a great way to draw in new customers, move through product, or just do something special for anyone who stops by your dispensary. The way this works with Dutchie Ecommerce is that you can set up specific conditions your customers must meet before they can receive their reward.
What's a Condition?
Conditions are the item(s) that a customer needs to put in their cart before they can be eligible for a reward.
What's a Reward?
Rewards are the item(s) that the customer will receive a discount on. The reward is shown to the customer when they've added both the condition item(s) and the reward item(s) to their cart.
Example: If a customer buys one 1/8th of Sour Diesel flower, they receive the second 1/8th of Gorilla Glue flower for 50% off. In this case, the Sour Diesel is the condition item, and the Gorilla Glue is the reward.
How do I create an Offer?
Go to your Dutchie Ecommerce Admin page and click on the Promote tab on the left-hand side of the page, then click Create a Special.
1. Type
Choose Offer and then click Continue.
2. Info
Fill out the Info section by inputting information like the name of the Offer, its frequency, the days your special will run, the hours your special is applicable, and the duration/end date, as well as if you want to email your customers about the special.
Redemption Limit
The Redemption Limit is simply the number of times a customer can redeem a special on a single order. A key thing to remember when creating Offers is that there is no maximum for Redemption Limit, meaning the discount will apply repeatedly as long as the items in the cart qualify.
Example
- Buy 1 Grön chocolate bar, Get 1 Grön chocolate bar 50% off (customer has 4 Grön chocolate bars in their cart)
- If Redemption Limit = 1, then customer gets 3 bars at full price and 1 at 50% off
- If Redemption Limit = 2 or more, then customer gets 2 bars at full price and 2 at 50% off
3. Menu Design
With Offers you can now control how Specials are displayed on your menu in a new section called Menu Design. Here you will be able to enter a Display Name, Description (optional), and an Image. The default design will include a sample image that you can either keep or replace with a specific image to match the brand or product. The preview on the right side will update live with changes, so you will be able to see how the special will be displayed on the Individual Specials Page, the Menu Home Page, and the Specials Home Page.
4. Conditions
Now, set the Conditions that need to be met for the consumer to receive a reward. You'll be able to make Offers for medical menus, recreational menus, or both. Specify your Offers conditions by three options - Specific items, All items from a category, or Items from a brand.
Specific Items
When you select the radio button for Specific items, you'll be provided with a search that expands and allows you to add one or more individual items.
Items from a Category
When you select the radio button for Items from a category, you'll be provided with a similar search drop-down, but this will only display categories on your menu. When you select a category that is weight specific, like Flower, you'll have an option to select how much Flower they'll need to put in their cart before they can receive the reward you've set. If you choose a category that isn't weight specific, such as Accessories, you'll just be prompted to select quantity, rather than weight.
Items from a Brand
Selecting the radio button for Items from a Brand will prompt you with the same search drop-down as the other options, but this time it will be filled with brands that you have on your menu. This option will allow you to choose how much of a particular brand the customer will need to add to their cart to receive the reward you've set. If the brand offers multiple different product categories, such as flower and edibles, you'll be able to specify a category within that brand for the conditions.
Note: After choosing Specific items, Items from a category, or Items from a brand and adding some criteria, you’d need to remove those products with the 'X' icon before you could switch to a different option.
'AND' Rules
When you add multiple items as conditions while creating Offers, our default rules are AND, meaning that the customer would have to add all of the condition items to be eligible for the reward you've set.
For example, the user would have to add 1/8th of Gorilla Glue flower AND 1/8th of Sour Diesel to be eligible to receive the designated reward in the Offer.
'OR' Rules
If you have multiple condition items added, you can change this to be OR instead of AND rules by clicking AND and toggling the drop-down menu that appears. When you choose the OR option for multiple items, it ensures that the Offer conditions will be met if the user has any of the condition items added to their cart.
For example, the user could add 1/8th of Gorilla Glue flower OR 1/8th of Sour Diesel flower OR 1/8th of Wedding Cake flower to receive the designated reward in the Offer.
5. Rewards
Now that you've added your Conditions, it's time to add your Rewards! Search for the menu item(s) that you'd like to have as the discounted reward for the customer. You can add one or more rewards that the customer will receive. It's important to remember that these rewards will only be given to the customer if they have both the condition and reward items in their cart.
6. Confirmation
Now it's time to review the Offer you've created in the Confirmation step! Take a minute to read through the Conditions and Rewards sections to ensure everything appears correct. Once everything looks good, click Confirm. If you want to walk through the customer experience for the Offer you've set up, we recommend clicking Preview Store (in the top right corner of the page) after you've confirmed your Offer.
Offers Customer Experience
Admin users have the option to add an Offers carousel to their Menu Home Page, by enabling it under Settings > Customize > Homepage > Add Sections > "Offers". This will add a Home Page section with all active Offers.
Offers are displayed to the customer as they are shopping and adding the items that fit the conditions set in the Offers to their cart. We notify them that they’ve received a discount in the bubble that appears in the upper right corner after they add an item to the cart.
Cart Preview Pop Up
Once a customer has added the item(s) that match your conditions to their cart and adds the reward item(s) they'll see a notification in the top right corner letting them how much money they're saving.
Shopping Cart Preview
When customers click into their cart while shopping, they’ll be able to see any discounts they’ve been awarded as well.
Cart on Checkout Page
Last but not least, once consumers reach the checkout page, they’ll be able to view what discounts they are receiving.
